Thank you for the long detailed tutorial. I just found coolant buildup on that Y pipe but not as extreme as yours. Would it be considered okay to keep driving the car? If so many m112ks leak surely many of them are currently driving while leaking. My skills as a DIY mechanic have been getting better but this job looks like an absolute pain! I would hope I can continue using it as a daily until I am ready to perform the repair.

@Valsmercedes - Mine was leaking for a long time, I suspect. I have heard that if the leak gets really bad, it can effect the catalytic converters.

Nice video, the part you did not know the name of is the MAP sensor, I have just done this same job. I picked up a charged air intercooler for $580. I have done a search for aftermarket charged air intercoolers and I don't believe they are made anymore. I also reached out to Garrett who made these charged air intercoolers but they never got back to me as I was wanting the old intercooler repaired. I have two 2003 C32's and now have replaced the charged air intercooler on both vehicles. On a cautionary note the plug connector for the throttle body does not like being unplugged a lot, the conductor terminal connectors start to fail due to repeat unplugging of the throttle body. This can cause the throttle body to cause the engine to start hunting and poor idle. I used a solution called Stabilant 22 electrical contact enhancer to help resolve any poor connector issues. I have VRP headers, needswings air intake, 64mm clutch SC pulley, Killer chiller heat exchanger and an ECU tune on one vehicle and 64mm SC pulley and SL55 air intake on the other. Love the M112K C32 AMG

@HawaiiDreaming - Thank you! Very interesting what you are saying about the throttle body harness. After I did this repair, the car is running a bit better, but I am still having the issue of it falling on its face when I go WOT. I have a new accelerator pedal coming from FCP, hopefully that does the trick

@@PrecisionMike Have you checked your Air intake temp sensor and you SC coolant pump they are typical failure points and will of course cause the vehicle to go into limp mode. The other is the ESP system locking up the brakes whenever it detects wheel slip, taking the traction control off helps but doing a ECU adaptive driving reset will probably net you some noticeable change in performance but you will still have the bogging down issue of the traction control system. to reset the adaptive driving system, turn key to second position and hold accelerator pedal down for 10 sec, remove foot off pedal and turn key to off but do not remove. wait 2 mins this will reset the ECU adaptive driving setting. This trick can be found on MBworld forum. The hitting a flat spot is a common issue and addressed a lot on MBworld forum. ECU tune does address this as well but ultimately TCU and ECU tune will help a lot as well as a good SC separated coolant system that brings down AIT. I have considered installing a new LSD to address the traction control issue just don't have the money to go that route at this time. One last note some people have used a pedal commander also to address the bogging down issue. pedalcommander.com/

I tried buying this peice through a merc i bet. They said good luck lol. I may make pleneum plate to re route the intercooler if i cant find one. Im trying to turn a limited xfire into a 5psi sc car. I have a sc out of an 05. Probs a bad idea but its a process with parts so hard to find

@driftwoodPEAKMotorsports - Yeah, I bought this one from Mercedes and I was told that I got the last one in the US

We just bought a complete 80k motor and trans. May try to get about 350hp with some bolt ons and some tuning. Going to be a fun little car

@hiresaudiocosta873- Hey buddy! I thought I was in trouble because this was not a MiZa video lol. More of that content coming soon. The C32 has about 142,500 miles. I bet that GL is a BEAST!!

What a coincidence that I’m finding this video and my car is having this exact same problem. The check engine light that comes on after the stubble at high rpm is engine misfire right? From what I read, this is caused by clogged cats. The intercoller leak kills the cat. I have a new set of 4 cats on order and I’ll let you know, but many have found clogged cats for this car. The secondary cat is confirmed clogged, will remove the front cats as soon as my cats come in. Will let you know if you interested. Do you get the same misfire codes when you scan it?

@mrkevinhoang - Interesting. After I finished this job, the car ran a bit better, but still has the issue. It is only under WOT. I am going to replace the accelerator next, as that is the code I am getting. Keep me posted, I am curious!

just got the new cat's installed. I got both cats for about 500$ new from mercedes. needed some modifications, but better than spending over 1K for new cats for the c32. The front cat was completely gone for both banks. the debris clogged the second cat. I will fill some gas and go for a test drive. If the car doesnt misfire under load, then i'm calling it fixed. Before the cats, it would misfire at higher rpm (under load) and then go into limp mode.
