Mercedes Benz E550 Review-Timeless Design

We look at the 2011 Mercedes Benz E550 W212 with the 5.5 liter N/A M273 V8. For it's age, the overall design of the car has held up well. This W212 is a born to be classic in the 550 or 63 form.

I’m currently looking at purchasing one myself. It’s a one owner 2011 E550 sedan RWD with the Sport Package. Silver with black interior with 84,000 miles. Excellent condition and well maintained with extensive maintenance history. I’m very close to pulling the trigger on it. Excellent review’

I would do it. I just sold mine for an 07 300 SRT. I’m glad I sold it but that’s just me! I would have kept the Benz if I could afford 3 cars!!

Have a 2010 E500 coming which should arrive next week. Needed a V8 to go with my 2000 W210 V6. I think this is one of, if not the best, looking 4 door sedan in the past 15 years. I much prefer the pre-facelift.

Owned several throughout the years, great car and very fun to drive. Common problems: leaky rear suspension air bags (the rubber dries out with the years and cracks), keep an eye on the starter might die around this age, the air suspension compressor might fail as well around that age. The low profile tires are sensitive to potholes. The folding mirrors engine is prone to failures.

I am interested in getting either a 2010 or 2011 E 550 sport. Some models I have seen have 4 fog lamps, some have 2. Some models have a 3 spoke steering wheel, some 4 spoke. Some have keyless ignition, some uses a physical key. Which one is the Sport model? Thanks.

The model that says AMG on the wheels is the AMG Sport model. Mine has a flat bottom steering wheel as well

The AMG lettering is not a sport model specifying detail. The ones with the rectangular exhaust pipes (as shown at 21:18) are the sport models. The ones with circular exhaust pipes are the luxury variants

My 08 E350 has powered mirrors…did this become optional on the W212?
