Been in Leicester for just over a month working hard on renovation work on our new home, I'll keep an eye out for you guys on the road and give you a wave (not doing taxi work any more in the leaf hence the vlog has taken a nose dive but we still have her) cheers and a good video

@@RWBHere hi mate, I have tons of videos to upload once we have finished renovating the new property I'll get on it. We have 16 solar panels on the new property but I'm having to use the trickle (3kw)charger to charge the leaf (don't mind as it means I'm only using the panels to charge her ;)) will get the Zappi in the new year and will do videos on that too. After your enthusiastic rating for the EQC, it makes me quite disappointed that the car isn’t offered in the US! I’ve driven the I pace and the Etron, and would buy the EQC if it were available!

Hi both, great video again. Your channel has proven to be a great source of information as I look to purchase my first EV. My question for you though is with a £50k budget, what EV would you recommend? Typical daily journey can be between 80 -120 a day.
@robsmith1a4 жыл бұрын
Nice video - thanks. Impressive but really expensive and way too big for me. I look forward to the day when all categories of cars are available in EV form (In particular I am waiting for a sensibly prices convertible with a hard top - have a feeling it will never actually happen though given that SUVs seem to be all most people want at present). On a longer journey I think a lot of people underestimate how much more relaxing and less tiring it is to be in a quiet car.

I have the option of an EQC or Tesla 3 long range as a company car, would you swap your Tesla for this if money wasn’t a problem? I’m worried I’d have to use public charging more in the EQC as trips are generally just over 100 miles long (220ish round trip) & I’ve read reviews which say it would only do 200 miles in real word driving whereas the Tesla will do this easy. Would be good to know your view as a Tesla owner
@everusualsuspect3 жыл бұрын
Same here. I'd rather the EQC but it always seems to come back to the public charging setup that makes the TM3 more attractive. Things are supposed to get better over the next 2 years but will they? Where will the government get the replacement for fuel tax from?

Mercedes currently have a 0% PCP offer on the EQC which will save you around £6.5k in interest over 4 years. Range starts at £65k. So £12k down and £500/month. Also get 2 years free charging on the polar network or a free charger installation. Mixing all the factors in its like buying (pcp) a £50k phev or £40-45k ICE. Local dealer tells me 0% offer will continue. Have test drive booked.

@@Jamesandkate had a look around it today, underwhelmed tbh. No different to a £25k A Class interior. Boot extremely shallow, no good for my golf trolley n clubs. Probably Model 3 for me now or consider the Enyaq?

The question is, do you really want to put a £12k lump sum into a PCP? You’ll get very little, if any of this back at the other end.
@relaxnchill93354 жыл бұрын
@@CarFinanceSimplified whether you put this in as a deposit or pay extra per month does not impact what you get the other end. To put 12k and get £53k interest free is a no brainer if you want to go pcp.

No mention of the lack of a frunk or the non-skateboard battery layout? The EQC handles terribly around corners. Pass.
@mikecarter27374 жыл бұрын
Please, no more charging reports. You need to match the capabilities of the car with the charger, which may require actually driving to an appropriate charger. Hint: it is all about Amps, not kW. For example, our BEVs will charge at 49kW and 41kW, but they each draw 135A, so they do not reach max rate on most "50kW" chargers, which might only supply 125A. You two are engineers, right? Showing the Leaf+ charging at 50kW? on a "70kW" charger was just sad. You needed 270-300A to do the car justice.
@Jamesandkate4 жыл бұрын
The issue with adding amps/kWs or kWhs in detail confuse people. It makes a video boring to the viewers. What people need to see is, what will it actually charge at when I plug it in, not, what amperage the charger can carry over. Add to this, we have roughly 12-14 minutes to get it all in.

crappy car ... and unreliable for our family ...80 kWh and too high consumption. Endless list of extras and that particular 1886 one is already outdated. They could not even deliver in time, delayed by ages. We gave it back as model S 2019 before. And we had 50 Mercedes the last 2 decades or so and even SL 600 not once, but more than a hand full new SL. But the quality has been lost - if you own these cars for just 2 years and less than 66000 km. Everything should work for just 2 years but it did not ... excep S and middle class DIESEL. These worked out especially on long distance.
