would like to see an in-depth presentation of eqs acoustic insulation. thanks

Exactly my point !! high end cars don’t use butyl type sound deadening, butyl material could work but add to much weight to the car , affecting fuel economy and acceleration...

because that foam its cheaper lol. metal sheet still resonates with vibration. You cant install a proper sound system without butyl. this thing it's just for road noise

I disagree, butyl is the key to reduce sheet metal resonances. I used 35-40kg worth of butyl, mass loaded vinyl and closed cell foam in my 18 year old dual cab ute, and it made a huge difference. At 90km on smooth bitumen 58db, that's with roof racks, ladders and tool boxes, now that's quiet. 40kg may seem like a lot of weight, but old light commercial vehicles didn't come with much sound deadening at all. No firewall blanket, bonnet liner, no hot melt bitumen on floor pan and hardly any floor covering underlay. So half that added weight is what the vehicle should've had.

@@tony6765 I will probably end up adding a similar weight to my Mercedes Vito after I finish all the sound deadening installation.

Mercedes is still using an asphalt dampener below all of these, at least they were 15 plus years ago.
@malan0710 ай бұрын
They still use butyl in key areas and those cars have more rigid structure compared to more avordable cars like for example Corolla, so they can use less vibration damping materials to begin with.

Good information, nut just slapping here and there with ductape or foams.

@@lollipopyummy4924 yes, definitely, it is not trash but still expensive to keep them alive unlike Lexus

I had been wondering, in what way, a year 2006 LS430 is insulated differently than a year 2006 E320?. In🤔🤔🤔🤔
