Pity they don’t take good care of the Planes. I hated taking people to it and the sister museums and seeing the dust and neglect. I don’t remember it being that bright. The car section was always dark and dingy.

Jawohl! Tonnenweise harter Kruppstahl und zähes Leder. Aufgrund des hohen Gewichtes war die Fuhre aber wohl höchstens so flink wie ein Windhund. Obwohl Hitler mit dem Vehikel immer heil angekommen zu sein schein, war es wohl doch nicht die Endlösung der Fortbewegungsfrage.

At a rod & Custom show in '75, I saw what was touted as Hitler's 1943 armored limo. It was battered, with a .45 bullet hole halfway through the 3" thick right rear door window and a hole cut in the rear fender so you could feel the armor plate. It had inner & outer windshield defrosters and could be greased using a dashboard control. It had missing "idiot stick" signals and a RED spotlight on the driver's side. That may be it, totally restored. They should have that window on display. The sign said original windshield was delaminated, possibly because of the inner & outer defroster temperature vs. the middle of the window. (I met a man who claimed to have seen this car late in the war, before it was vandalized).

Admittedly, the glass will be hard to duplicate, although that right rear window with the .45 bullet hole would be a nice display, like the one shown in the vid. Too bad they couldn't get ahold of it before it was vandalized.

Actually, Hitler lived at the Mercedes Benz factory since 1935. He rode in every single Mercedes Automobile that the factory produced, until about 1942. This was done for advance planning for Museum Exhibits.

Irgendwo in den USA steht noch son Hitlerbenz in ein Flugzeugmuseum . Gibt ein Video davon . Bei den Combat Dealers gabs eine Folge , da wurde ein Mercedes von Hitler in einer Scheune gefunden . Glaube , dass es kein G4 war sonder ein 2Achser . Weis nur nicht welcher Typ es war 🤔 Kann mich nur erinnern, dass die Frontscheibe beschädigt war .
