Isn’t there suppose to be 2 side brackets fitted to help with holding the back of tow bar when actually towing to prevent that hitch ripping off with any sought of weight behind?

Some manufacturers do sell an add on, I’ve towed over 150,000 miles with mine and never had an issue, towing 4000lb boats with ease. That back frame that the hitch mounts to is very strong.

This no already had the side brackets installed for some reason. I can see the two bolts to each side of the center. They are for those brackets

@r00t1- I have never used the back supports and I have towed far beyond the towing capabilities of the truck with zero issues. I’ve probably towed 50k miles with many different trailers never an issue.
