That 500SL screams 1980's. They really were a class act back then and still looks the part today. I remember the CLS being released but had almost forgotten how striking they looked at the time compared with other saloons of the time The blue 190E and the W202 C class again are both designs that have aged extremely well. In fact I always forget how old the first of the 190 are as the design looks like it came from a decade later. The S123 is stunning. I think these look so much more elegant and classier than the low slung, big wheeled cars on offer today. That said the white E class is a nice design and I really liked the coupe version when they first came out. The modern mercedes I was always interested in was the CL as I prefer coupes over convertibles and it probate incorporated a lot of the best features of the larger saloons. The R129 SL is probably the SL I remember the most as they looked so fresh and modern at the time. As a teenager I also looked at one in the showroom which was around £70k and the staff were really friendly.

W201s have a very broad appeal being an affordable classic ( to buy if not to run) and as seen can be modified or left standard as the owner wishes. Unusual to see 3 lined up together anywhere even at a MB only event. Great to meet you Simon & thanks for your kind words about my 2.6 190e. (Ascot) grey is very " in " now so your car was 30 years ahead of it's time. !😃

@@adebrade172 CLKs are great value and I guess it has aircon of course which sadly most UK 190Es don’t.
