I thought this would be as difficult as my M1 13 engine on my E430 but this is surprisingly simple. Thank you! One thing I am going to modify from past spark plug installations. I've always put a small dab of anti seize on the threads and I think I'm not going to do that anymore I've heard pros and cons but for me the big con is I've noticed on one of my engines that the plug seems to loosen over some thousands of miles Even when it is torqued to spec Well presented video and thank you again Thumbs up!

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your experience. So glad to hear you enjoyed the episode. Oh yes the M272 is far more simple for spark plug change then the M113. Do you still own the E430? Beautiful cars. Yes that is the biggest concern when using anti seize when going through the trq sequence it can cause false reading and lead to possible oversight or loose plugs. Thank you again for your support 🙏 truly is appreciated. Hope to see you on the next episode! #thebestornothing - Full Throttle

High quality video indeed. Question though… you mentioned something about coil’s going back in original order. Why is that? Coils are interchangeable, arent they?
@FullThrottleBHP
@FullThrottleBHP 8 ай бұрын
I apologize on the delay, and greatly appreciate your feedback and question. You are right, the ignition coils are interchangeable and could go to any spark plug on the engine. The only reason I recommend labeling or reinstalling in the same location is strictly for diagnostic if an issue arises. some times ignition coils after many miles can become problematic and start causing misfire codes or other issues. I like to reinstall all back to the same location encase something happens after the replacement of spark plugs i can keep track of which coil was its original location, then swap coils top see if the misfire code changes to that cylinder. At the end of the day its really just being overly cautious. I hope this helps and thank you again for your support to the channel. Autolite Iridium is factory gap .04, so they need to be gapped .032

I apologize i missed your comment. Yes that is right if you are installing autolite iridium they should be gapped to .032 for factory mb spec. Hope your install went smoothly and again I apologize for the late reply. Thank you for your support, - Full Throttle

Mercedes has a special spark plug socket with ball joint, is this really necessary? Or can I use a extension and dedicated spark plug socket?
@FullThrottleBHP
@FullThrottleBHP 7 ай бұрын
Thanks for reaching out, I hope you enjoyed the episode and if so please consider subscribing and leaving a like. You are right! They do have there speciality socket but as seen in the episode you do not need it. A standard spark plug socket and extension will work just fine. Additionally a telescopic magnet can come in handy if your spark plug socket boot is warn and the spark plug doesn't stay in it you can use the magnet to extract the spark plug from the tube. If you have any ither questions let me know. Thank you for your support. - Full Throttle

Hii. Should the engine be cold when changing the spark plugs and roughly how many thousands of kilometers do you think they should be replaced? 10x 👍
@FullThrottleBHP
@FullThrottleBHP 7 ай бұрын
It is always recomended to change the spark plugs when the engine is cold. Slightly warm should be okay but never on a hot engine. You run a higher risk of damaging the threads especially on these aluminum engines. I can't remember exactly the interval on the M272 engine but I do believe it is recomeneded to change every 100k miles or every 4 years. Most go far over the 4 year interval. But is an easy and relatively cheap maintence item that I'll help keep your engine operating at its highest efficiency. If you have any other questions be sure to let me know. Are these non resistor plugs … I know the glk original is a non resistor plug , if not did you have any performance issues?
@FullThrottleBHP
@FullThrottleBHP 8 ай бұрын
I apologize on the delay for reply. After looking further into this from my knowledge the BOSCH YR7MPP33 is the OE spark plug on the GLK350. This plug is a resistor plug. The NGK 93911 is also a resistor plug. I cant seem to find anything showing the plugs should be a non resistor but does not mean I am right. Do you happen to have any more info on it? So far I have had no performance issues and seems to be a much smoother running and quicker response with the new plugs. ( The originals were very worn) I hope this helps but like I do look forward to hearing back as I am curious now about the non resistor vs resistor spec. - Full Throttle

I noticed you didn't use any anti-seize paste. I found this video from NGK that explains why: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rouQfIKCacyNsNk Thanks for including the torque specs!

Thank you for reaching out! I am glad you enjoyed the video and appreciate the link. That is a great video explaining the reasons why most spark plugs do not need anti seize past and can cause you some severe headache if used. Hopefully other viewers will find that useful and something I should have touched on further in my episode. Please consider leaving a thumbs up and subscribing if you have not already. Your support goes a long way in helping the Chanel grow and is greatly appreciated. I also have to ask, did you replace spark plugs in a GLK or another model equipped with the M272 engine? Thank you again for your continued support and hope to see you on the next episode. 🙏 - Full Throttle
