Mercedes-Benz W124 E-Class Fuel Filter Replacement

Your fuel filter is an integral part of the fuel delivery system. A clogged filter can cause all kinds of problems, from a rough running engine to leaving you stranded on the side of the road. Mercedes suggests changing your filter every 30,000 miles.
The Mercedes W124 fuel filter is located on the underside of the car, behind the rear right side seat. You will need to safely lift and support your car. Please see our article on safely jacking up and supporting your Mercedes-Benz.
You will also be working around gasoline so make sure to use eye and hand protection. You will get some spillage no matter what precautions you take especially since the filter will be full of fuel, so be prepared to catch any spills and dispose of the waste according to the regulations in your area.
