this is the facelift edition which has the AMG Speedshift MCT 7 transmission . the speedshift MCT transmission from AMG is not a single or dual-clutch unit , the Speedshift MCT unit is a multi-clutch automatic gearbox. Instead of a torque converter, like conventional automatics, it possesses a “clutch pack,” which includes multiple clutches placed together and controlled separately. It is easily differentiated from dual-clutch automatics because it has a single input shaft. It is currently available in seven-speed and nine-speed versions, these multi-clutch transmissions are usually operated in heavy-duty applications, where an optimal response is required, along with the need to handle a bundle of torque. It is important not to confuse multi-clutch gearboxes with multi-plate clutches. The latter term refers to the clutch itself, which can be engaged in a manual gearbox. Multi-clutch transmission are used by various racing cars, but also in heavy machinery. The advantage of this technical solution is using less space for something that can handle more torque and power, all with minimum slip. Reaction time is also an important characteristic, which is significantly improved when compared to a torque converter.

Alcantara is incredibly wear resistant but it does get matted with use. All you need to do is rub it down with a dampened microfiber cloth and it will feel brand new.

i just bought a used 2014 507 edition for my 26th birthday. in comfort mode its a normal mercedes, but in Manuel and u put u floor the paddle, its slightly scary

this car has an MCT, or, MULTI clutch transmission. The old pre facelift model has a single clutch with torque converter.

Originally they came in sedan style, but later they introduced the coupe. Black Series is not available in Canada - closest you can get to the Black Series in Canada is the 507.

100% pure N/A V8 sound. As real as it gets. They sound like monsters in RL. Even the newer 4.0 biturbo V8 C63's sound pretty amazing.

+Jones Nobs so true! My mate has this NA version with gutted mufflers. It actually sounds like thunder approaching! The new 4.0 turbo also sounds beautiful. With an aftermarket exhaust, I don't think people would moan about it being boosted👍🏽

Would love a C63 with a manual gearbox ! I have a C-class 1.6 amg sport coupe 156 bhp in white with a manual gearbox and much prefer it to an automatic. Everyone complains about Mercedes manual gearbox 's saying their crap, but I don't have any problems with mine and find it a really smooth changer...or maybe I just got one of the good ones ! .I wish Mercedes would introduce more manual stick shifters in their models. BMW and Audi don't seem to have a problem with this.

C63 - this thing just keeps accelerating all the way to 285 km/hr with a smooth power band, and that NA 6.2 lt engine sounds way better than the 4 lt V-8 of the BMW.

Frederik Leon Anlauf - This car has the AMG Speedshift multi-clutch 7-speed transmission (MCT). This is not a dual-clutch transmission (DCT). The MCT does away with the traditional torque converter with lock-up clutch, and replaces it with a wet start-up clutch with the hydraulically operated multi-disc clutch located in an oil bath.

You know, you can make videos with just normal sound of the surroundings or even silence? This instead of umpteenth videos on KZbin being accompanied by douchebag ear polluting music for absolutely no reason. Sometimes, silence is OK. Second. I know that Petrol is very cheap in the USA, but not so in the UK and Europe. Saying you shouldn't be driving around in comfort mode is ridiculous. The car still makes a wonderful sound and extremely fast. If you drive around in sports mode, the petrol consumption is not great. This car eats 1/3 of a tan very very quickly.
