How to remove and install the gauge cluster from a 2008 Mercedes CLS 550

Great video. My daughter just picked up a 2008 CLS550 with 110K miles. Her dash gauges (needles) work but the illumination is out. Not a dimmer switch issue. Need to pull the dash out to diagnose. Appreciate the detail and confidence booster. Cheers.

@@HoustonScrewedUpCIty Mercedes, in their infinite wisdom, uses flat wire and at one point, it is bent at a 90 degree angle. One time, the wire wears and then breaks. For a while, they would work intermittently, then they stopped entirely. She recently traded the CSL550 in for a 2024 CRV.

Awesome video!!! Excellent detail!!! ...I knew there was a way..... Dealership said they would have to remove cluster, send somewhere else, recalibrate, bla bla $$$..... Bought my CLS55 AMG almost 5 years ago and the drip marks have been bugging me from day one!!!!!!!!!.... can't wait to fix it in the morning. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!$$$$$$$

Nice video man! Can you tell me how to remove the round cover off the speedo? It has some dust inside and it drives me crazy.

The round chrome covers don't come off by themselves. They are connected with black backing and come apart as one piece. There are clips on the back side of the cluster that allows you to separate the gauges from the trim piece.

How do you make the miles show on a used cluster that you swapped out for a different one

How did you get behind bezel i have the same problem grease in the inside

The black part and the bezel come apart together. It's just a few tabs that hold it all together. I just used a glass cleaner.

Does it have to be programmed by MB after you install it?
