Been driving one since a year now here in the Netherlands. Had issues as well with the trunk lid but it was repaired under warranty. Keep the pressure lance from the car wash away from that rear lid chome piece to keep water out. Gorgeous looking and massively refined car I hope to enjoy for many years to come. Live 20min. from the German Autobahn were it can stretch its legs every once in a while. It turns 4200rpm when it hits the limiter where you still hardly can hear the engine...

Gja Geurts the 135mph limit stinks. especially because it comes so quick. :)
@gjgeurts93728 жыл бұрын
It's 155mph here but that's not any hard breathing as well. I was quated a 400hp ECU upgrade/tune and a limiter delete apparantly good for 185mph for €900,-, but I think I pass.

Lol yeah me too. I'd like to keep my license. I could so see myself saying what did I pay $1700 for as I attempt a top speed run.

Ive got the 2007 CLS 350. Apart from the engine size and a few miles faster, is there any major difference. Great cars, but must be driven or it gets costly when the air struts go. I just love the shape and the drive and cannot get money back on resale so going to keep iot for my grandson to one day own and sell as a classic which it is. You didn't mention the best feature on these cars and thats the distronics function and not everyone knows how this works. Its much much more than just speed control.

Is it a keyless start?

Great Car! Got a 09 model 550. Black in black. Any Problems until now? Change your transmission fluid! Even if it shifts nice
@fcimports98238 жыл бұрын
SumoHH nope no real issues, just a little leak in the trunk from the chrome strip when it rains hard. I'm still researching the transmission fluid change. I'm seeing change it at 40k miles and never again, but I'm not sold on that. mine is fine but it's hard to wrap my head around never changing fluid. I wouldn't flush the system but maybe just drain and refill.

Nice review, thank you for sharing. I'm getting one this weekend black with cashmere interior. Do you still like yours?

Kia Nicol I love it. I'm usually a guy the switches cars quite frequently, but I couldn't imagine replacing the CLS. Look at the reviews anywhere and you'll see how much people like it. So far running costs have been pretty low. It's a gem, I promise.

FC Imports THATS ME I SWITCH ALLLL THE TIME LOL!! Longest I've had a car is 3yrs, so that's comforting to hear you say you like it that much. I'm still a little nervous about the maintenance costs. I hear they have good places other than the dealer to take the car to for service. Do you go to the dealer? Also do you drive it all year? I'm in MI too so we have the same weather to deal with.....srry for all the questions!! Your video is the only one I've ran across where we have very similar circumstances, so your replys are very appreciated :)

Kia Nicol no problem at all. I usually work on it myself: headlight replacement, passenger window repair (retainer retighting), oil changes. I did have the brakes done at a dealer because the previous mechanic didn't put anti-seez on the bolts, so the dealer had to cut them out. The dealer only charged me $686 for the front brakes, rotors, and sensor. They also gave me a brand new C300 to drive around which was nice :). My brother in law's ford dealer charged him $800 for rear brakes on his Taurus, so there you go, lol. I haven't had the car through a full winter but I'm planning on driving it. I have a backup Range Rover just in case it gets too dicey. but with good tires, and I recommend some decent all season, perhaps winter tires, you should be ok. just make sure to keep the transmission in comfort mode which will start the car in 2nd gear, reducing torque and wheel spin. Also, check all the windows on your car to make sure they aren't loose. People close the door by the window which loosens it quite a bit. When it's too loose it will hit the B pillar in the middle and make an unusual sound. It's an easy fix, I have a video of it, but could be costly if you don't do it youself. One last thing, check the trunk for water leakage around the auto-close buttons. The chrome stripe in the back may allow water in. The trunk will still work but it's annoying and can be a great bargaining chip. Don't hesitate to ask any further questions. :)

Would you Recommend a 2006 CLS500? They go for like $10k these days.
@fcimports98238 жыл бұрын
I'd always recommend a CLS. How many miles? That price seems pretty good, but I've seen CLS550 for $13k. I don't know what your budget is, but you're getting a decent amount of upgrades for $3k. 82hp, upgraded 7-speed geartronic are the two biggest positives.
@Prince-ut2xv8 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for the info man! They are about 100-120k miles (11 years old)... I believe they all have Air Suspensions (which, if it goes bad, is a major reason folks sell the car cheap)

You were informative and make a decent narrator however, from the looks of it ... you wouldn’t make a good videographer. The whole video had me staring at your dash. Lol I gave up on watching it after about 7 minutes of looking at nothing but your speedometer in the beginning.

How is the fuel consumption on this vehicle. Do you still have yours

Do you still have it?
@rossitherhodie5659 Жыл бұрын
You missing a lot of features that the car comes with. The main one is the distronics on the speed control system. Once set, the car senses the car in front and will slow down or speed up accprdinly to saty a specified distance behaind that vehicle. I hardly ever drive using the accelarator. Expensive fix when the air suspension plays up.
@fcimports9823 Жыл бұрын
Yep, well my car didn't have that feature. Lol
@justinaslukosius1388 жыл бұрын
Hey is there an aux port or bt to play music?
@fcimports98238 жыл бұрын
sorry for the delay. Yes there is an Aux port in the glove box and optional iPod connector. I believe if you get the Mercedes 'Puck' which goes into a slot in your arm rest, you get hands free calling and bt to play music.

I’m thinking of getting one of these. What type of major problems have you had with the car? The one I’m looking at has 101k miles, would it be worth it?
@fcimports98235 жыл бұрын
Depends on the price but I experience barely any issues at that mileage. The 5.5 is built proof. Nothing to go wrong. I think only the v6 had timing chain issues around 07-10

Bro dont buy this car or any mercedes benz with air suspension I can tell from experience the suspension is a nightmare and expensive to fix I spend like 4k fixing my previous e550 suspension when I though it was fix the air compression broke another 800 to fix it and the car never drive the same...
@b58forever5 жыл бұрын
That's why they go so cheap
@rossitherhodie56592 жыл бұрын
@@b58forever Ive had both my left and right air suspensions go with less than 140km on the clock. Other than that, best car Ive ever driven.
