Mercedes E220d 2.0 654 engine knocking noise camshaft rocker arms replacement

I am a very satisfied customer of Tajik at Enka motors he and his team know this exact problem inside out! I was told the price of the parts,price of the labour how long it would take and he was true to his word on all counts.I drove down from the north of Scotland to have the job done by Enka motors.Mercedes quoted exactly double the price two weeks before they could start the job which would take a week to complete. Tajik took 6 hours I'm a taxi driver so time is of the essence Cheers Tajik.

@@jambanja7 Rocker cover gasket. 4x Injector copper washer. 16x Rocker arms. 16x Hydraulic lifters. It will be better to do Engine oil and oil filter

Very nice job and I am sure lot of money saved by the customer. Unfortunately Mercedes does not take the responsibility of this defective parts. Same engine like mine start with this after the second service. I have to tell that the sound of my engine is not so bad, but is going to reach that level soon or later. MB claims engine oil service each 20.000km... wich is too long. But also engine is problematic, camshaft and rocker arms are too week...

We replaced one engine on a 19 plate C43 that was due to the conrod flying through the block. Apart from that we have not come across any issues with that vehicle.

I have a same problem with THREE W213 220d OM654 from 2017. We also changed the camshaft and oil . Only 150.000km in the engine.... 2000EUR..... WTF ????

Same problem with my e class 68 plate only done 100k I hear that noise when I start the engine few seconds only and then it’s gone don’t know what to do

The noise will come and go, there’s most likely an issue with the camshaft and rocker arms if you’re hearing that noise. changing the camshaft and rocker arms will solve the noise issue

It depends on the state of the camshaft if it isn't too worn down then you can use it.

Why do you change lifters, they are not problem. What is injector washers? Nice video, BTW. :)

When I done one of the same jobs I had problem with lifters and had to take it off again and replace the lifter. It is a difficult job and once I open it up I would rather change all in one go then doing it again and again. Injector washers are the copper washers which is bronze colour. If you use the same washer the injector washer could potentially leak.

Wrong…. Change the oil every 7000-10000 kilometre end use motorkote!! Nothing problems never for me .I have E300de 2020 or 879790 kilometres.taxi driver….

Yo he cambiado dos veces árbol de levas y cada 90000 km vuelve el problema. Pésima calidad Mercedes y nefasto diseño de ingeniería.En mi caso la solución fue vendré el coche con 286000km y menos de 5 años Un desastre!!!!

No we don’t replace the camshafts, best to check the camshaft inspect as sometimes could require replacement. But we’ve never had to replace any so far

Hey, we don’t need the VIN because the 654 engine parts are standard. You will need: Rocker arms x16 hydraulic lifters x16 copper injector washers x4 Rocker cover gasket set Engine oil oil filter Sometimes you need camshaft as well. We have the client buy these just in case, if it is damaged we replace it if not, we leave it.
