I loved this video! Pierre has a way of expanding all of our knowledge such good things to know when looking to add a different Mercedes to the collection. It's time we all support this guy his contribution should not go without some support.

Replacing the expansion valve on my RHD W126 (with help from Pierre via email) turned out to be a lot easier than on LHD models which apparently require the removal of a bracing bar for access. On RHD models it can be done with crows foot wrenches and around 30 minutes of patience. For the rest of the aircon system...all o-rings (worth replacing since the originals were totally deformed) were available from MB as well as the expansion valve and pressure sensors. I also rebuilt the Nippondenso 10P17C compressor with new o-rings and shaft seals with a 3rd party repair kit. Gauge pressures are 30psi/220psi on hot days (don't get many of these in England) and 30psi/170psi on cooler days. Performance at idle was a little poor in a roadtrip to Europe this year but it turned out my recirculation vacuum pods were shot but got them working with replacement rubber diaphragms from Performance Analysis Co. Only problem now is the rubber suction hose going to the compressor has pinhole leaks!

Funny that about the 126 expansion valves, I found that removing the steering wheel first before crawling under the dash allowed more room to twist & maneuver when I replaced the expansion valve and re- sealed the a/c on my 81 SD. As always Pierre love your rabid dedication to these cars.
