Mercedes GLE 2020 gas lid won’t open/ unlock fuel door/ gas cap

Genuinely appreciate the video, but it took me a while to find the button. It’s not where you would expect it to be, and it’s not a button you can clearly feel and press. The part where he replaces it you can see that the white part is the part that is inside that you are touching through the trunk. The button is not where the electrical connection is but to the left side of that between the white part and the car. It’s got a rubber texture to it so you can clearly tell it’s not part of the plastic, just push that rubber part in with some pressure and it will open the gas cap. Sorry for a long explanation, hopefully it helps because it took me a good hour to find the button that the guy casually mentions without any detail.

@@teresastephenson4706 My biggest problem was thinking there was a solid button on the side but really it’s like a rubber piece that you just have to feel your way to and push in really hard

Why can't Mercedes put a switch / lever in the driver dash to open the fuel cover? Even my older 2013 Acura TL has this. I know drive a CLA 35 AMG and i noticed there no fuel cover release in the dash. German engineering at it's best.😂
