Im looking for a 2020 gls450 but I read somewhere that breake replacement is expensive for whatever reason. Is that true?

Well it is going to cost you a decent amount of money unfortunately but the reason is that because simply Mercedes has the Best Braking System on the market so therefore their parts are made from expensive materials in order to actually achieve the performance your car would require to stop properly! If you do the brake service yourself you would be able to save a big amount of money but otherwise you are in the hands of the shops and stealerships and then the story changes! These same will overcharge you simply because they can and it's up to you to find a good but cheaper place with the hope that they would do a good job on your car... But that's a whole another very sensitive topic for a conversation... So yes they are expensive but there's a reason for it! After all you are not buying a Toyota or a Lexus or a Honda which are brands that I cannot stand at all... Mercedes is a pioneer in safety and technologies and in order to enjoy these you have pay for it... Actually you would end spending a similar amount of money if you owned a BMW or Audi! Meanwhile you would spend even more than the Mercedes if you owned a Porsche! So at end of the day you get what you pay for... Thanks and Good Luck! 🤞💪👍

thank you! great video!. Can you make video how to flush brake fluid? I thought the best time to flush brake fluid is when you change rotor and brakes.

The Brakes Flushing is part of the Maintenance Time Schedule and is not really done during a brake replacement. You need to check your Service Manual for the Mileage specified when the Brake Fluid is charged as I am not going to know it by heart. Maybe it would be around 50 or 60k miles. The actual Brake Flush is not complicated but you will need to buy or get a Pump kit that attches to the Brake Fluid Reservoir in order to complete this job. As soon as I get one of these X7 I will make the video. Thanks 👍

What do I do if I can’t get the rotor off? lol

Your rotors are glued to the hub because of the rust between them! You need to hit the rotor possibly several times with a heavy hammer around the middle area where you see the holes for the lug bolts in order to get it loose! Check my last video on the Porsche Macan Brake job and you will see where I hit them. Let me know if you have other questions... Thanks 🙏👍
