You guys underestimate how insane cities can get about sports over here (it's why cheap sports heat always gets a reaction). They didn't start booing Mercedes until they remembered she was from Boston (a guy standing up in a Celtics jersey reminded them); that's why they started doing anti-Boston chants. And despite that, she still got her fair share of cheers. And I can't hate the Pulp Fiction/Learning Tree match because everyone (except Jericho, tbh) made it really entertaining. To me, Mox/Naito was the worst match of the night, sadly; Naito just didn't look like his heart was in it.

I watched the event and I enjoyed it from start to finish. All of the matches were good but the one that truly delivered was the main event of Swerve and Ospreay which me and my brother believed was a 5 star classic, we were also happy that Britt Baker returned which my older brother predicted that she would return before we watched the event. Hopefully business begins to pick up for AEW now that Britt baker is back. I give Forbidden Door the vote of 4 out of 5 as well.

Forbidden Doors 2024 proven that there is nothing wrong with AEW and their wrestlers, but there is plenty things wrong with the person in charge of Booking, Creative, providing weekly TV content and building towards PPVs, and that person is Tony Khan. He MUST step down from those roles for AEW's sake.

Mercedes' problem isn't a heel or face problem, it's a nobody cares problem. She hasn't gotten over with AEW fans at all. She took the title from Willow without a single match after being out of action over a year. Her gimmick is horrible and she's not the big deal some think she is. I think fans wanted to see Stephanie Vaquer win and give CMLL some love. NJPW put their highest ranking belt on an AEW superstar for months. The least AEW can do is put the mid card on a CMLL superstar especially one holding 3 belts. I'd say the same for Mina, she's a multi champion in Stardom, getting her over by having her beat Toni would further the growing collabs.

AEW says it is where the best wrestle. Yet they have quite a few jobber matches on live tv. Especially with established wrestlers, Also have two terrible human beings as women’s champions. They book matches that everyone knows the winner. We all knew Sasha Banks was winning the title and keeping it here. Toni wasn’t losing no matter the opponent. Same with Bryan. It is like they have multiple Romans.

AEW's main problem is they have good matches but bad storytelling.. Matches are not enough to get viewers and their ratings are proving that. People aren't tuning in..

I was there live. the main event was the most anticipated- swerve was hugely over. the match had amazing psychology and the crowd was going mental in the end. osprey is the best right now and made swerve look legit. osprey should be kept in the title hunt, maybe winning another belt and then beating swerve down the line. the issue with the mone match was that no one knew who steph was. mone certainly had her vocal supporters throughout the match but i think she was treated lukewarm because she's supposed to be a heel- i mean isn't that what her ceo/boss persona really is? (which was confirmed as she joined the EVPs the next night.) someone in the crowd had the perfect sign for her- mercedes mo-meh. But, as the match turned into a back-and-forth clinic i think the crowd realized how good steph was and now had a reason to cheer her and thus, a reason to boo mone rather than staying silent.

Way too long and far too many matches. Khan needs to learn that sometimes less is more. WWE had exactly the same problem when they were making the one-night WrestleMania eight hours long. Viewers just get burned out.

Yeah Mercedes being boo’d had nothing to do with Stephanie and everything to do with American sports. Celtics just won the NBA title and New York hates Boston. Also really hope the elite get some edge with hanger coming back because their gimmick isn’t doing anything for me outside of okada.

Wait Mone isn't a heel? I mean the ego driven character. The better than everyone attitude. Her first story in AEW was bulling Willow Nightingale who at least in my opinion might be the nicest person on the roster.
