Clever yes, but practical on the road in emergency flat tire situation? Who has a portable 12V air compressor that will deliver 90 psi + on the road? Thx for the post Beshev.

Exactly. This is the dumbest and most impractical thing ever.

The car comes with the compressor as standard. Its only small but inflates it well.

@@bertdingle indeed, I have one myself (R170 version) and was surprised to find a 12V compressor strapped to the spare wheel, now we all know why.

@@PRtrainman Like others have said, the cars that came with these spare tires also came with a portable air compressor that plugs into the 12v outlet. However, I guess if you buy the car used and the compressor isn’t there, you’re right, it doesn’t make sense. Mine came with it used and I’ve been soooo thankful.

You’ll note the non-load pressure is around 30psi so 90psi is not needed to inflate this. That’s just what the compressed air line registers under load. Mine came with the car but with no 12v compressor, so I bought a compressor to go with it. Job done.
