To further cement my choice for this Tartan the Motto of Clan MacDonald is "Per mare per terras" which translates to "By sea and by land" What could be more fitting as a motto for a Van that is destined to travel across sea and land :D More on that subject too very soon!

Without a doubt, this is THE definitive KZbin guide to DIY camper van conversions. Not just for the expertise/ craftsmanship on display and the level of detail it goes into, but also for the natural, instructional talent, in front of camera, of Greg the presenter. I hope you don't stop when the van is complete Greg - and do continue to make any future videos 'instructional' - it really is your forté!

Great video, Greg! And great work, Cat! We have MacDonald on one side of our family as well as Maclean and Cameron on the other. (We won't talk about the 16th century battles between the three!). My wife and I even visited Duart Castle on the Isle of Mull and got to sign the family guest book. I would love to replace the fabric of the front seats on my '13 Sprinter. At present they are a bit cut up and look rough. There's a company in Vancouver, BC called Nomad Vanz and they have some beautiful custom tartan seats but are only available as part of a full build. I may have to go see Cat and see what she can come up with! The hunting tartans are quite nice compared to the regular tartans. Great choice! Loving you're build. Cheers from Canada.

@GregVirgoe5 жыл бұрын
Oh dear Brett and Bec, really so sorry to hear that, it's always innocent people that suffer all the losses. Good that you still have a positive attitude and keep looking forward, you can't change the past but you can make a brighter future. We too were part of a vehicle scam when looking for our van and it might be a good topic for a video, we looked at buying a van on AutoTrader however the seller wanted me to transfer the money and he would transport the vehicle to my door. That immediately started ringing alarm bells with me so I set about doing some digging online. I took a photo of the van from AutoTrader and did a Goggle image search and sure enough it came up on a traders website for sale on their forecourt, it wasn't even his van he had just copied the photos and made up the advert. So next I did a search on his email address and a WhoIs search on the domain name he was using, that cam up with a guy in Brighton, his home address and it turned out he worked in IT and had a wife I even got his Facebook details. Of course I alerted both AutoTrader and the police and sent them both all the details. I hope he got a knock on his door but didn't hear what the outcome of that was. My mantra is don't part with any money until the V5 and keys are in your hands and you've done all the relevant checks. It's very cheap now to do vehicle searches and free to do MOT searches on gov website. You are not alone here and many fall into this trap as it's widely used scam. Keep your chin up guys and best wishes for future. Greg and Lou 😊
