Mercedes Vito van conversion - part 1. Stripping, beams, floor insulation and ply

Our 2005 Mercedes Vito conversion, part 1. We stripped out the inside, put beams down, insulated the floor and ply lining. We got her on 29/12/2020. :D

what thickness of ply did you use for the floor

9mm :) is plenty thick enough

Hey. We saved the plastic over lining on the original floor, put that over the ply and drew around it

yes! we didn’t get the memo about sound deadening til we had already insulated haha

Hi, I’ve read the sound deadening on the floor isn’t really necessary, can I ask where you should apply sound deadening on the floor? Is there somewhere specific to the Vito as I’m in the middle of converting a Vito, thanks 👍

@@jayvanday7402 Hi mate, sound deadening the floor will help with road noise when driving. If you already have some spare i would use it as it will help a little. If you don't then at least cover the wheel arches. I have also seen people remove the door cards in the front and add sound deadening and insulation to further reduce noise.
