Hi Vito. I respect your admiration and love for classic mercedes. I believe in the nobility and loyality of these cars. I have a 80' 300 naturally aspirated, actually. What I would like to say to you is that a car like that deserves and needs, for respect and dignity of what it represents nowadays and no matter when or where, original mercedes parts. I feel it is so important for the restoration and preservetion of these machines avoiding aftermarket replacement, and let it keep rolling with its original quality and distinction among others. I know original parts are considerably more expensive, but the warranty and feeling of a car made with chinese or romanian parts are not the same, obviusly. But, having in mind that fact, that results wiser trough time, we, who appreciate these cars, must preserve as much original as posible, for respect and dignity. I do not want to consider here replacing parts to avoid catastrofic failures, it could be reasonable the aftermarket parte in this case. But i prefer the big boy with an almost 37 years old sitll working water pump than ordering a brand new Dolz pump, made in Vietnam. I repeat it, i appreciate very much your entusiasm and passion for these old and big machines. And let me give you an advise: marry you with an old diesel Benz, or with many if you can, instead of any woman of nowadays. When you were old enough, you will notice the meaning of loyality. I would like to know what you think. Beware. Best wishes.

Thanks a lot for watching my videos and supporting. I've been married to a lot of cars now, I don't need any women lol... And Febi Flex Discs are great quality parts. I've never had any problems with them. I've installed Febi Flex Discs on W210 3 years ago and have no problems whatsoever! Save Classic Cars!!

@@VITOSGARAGE got it, I admit having intalled non original parts like front crank seal, steering arms and even the oil pan, from Febi as well. I have in mind changing all original mercedes when i had money and time. I al the only one who touch muy car. Goodbye

I think i am going to replace that roller soon. I have an issue with very strong noise of metal parts hitting to low speeds especially when a use the 3rd gear. I replaced everithing in the rear suspenssion ( she needed anyway) including the flex discs . I though it was the diffierencial (internal parts) so it was replaced, but it still sounds The only supstected guy in the whole transmission line is this roller. espcially becuase a high speeds a wistle like sound replace the sound of htting metal parts. I think tht by rotating a very high speed the centrifugal force over the cardan (and the roller) mantains the bar in possition hitting no other parts.

What up Vito what are the symptoms of a bad flex plate... I think I need 1 on the W140 it feels like my rear end shakes.

nice vid man. i still have this vibration/noise from the drive shaft area that i cant seem to fix. My 300d it only does it when i accelerate from low revs in a high gear (3rd or 4th) at around 40-50 mph. Replaced all engine mounts, gear box mount , flex discs, center bearing and rear diff rubber mount. running out of ideas at the moment :/

Might need to have the driveshaft checked for balance by a machine or driveline shop.

Wheel balance, loose steering components (especially a bad steering dampener will cause vibrations), driveshaft balance. Bent axle is the last thing but I doubt it's bent on your Benz. I just changed a trailing arm on my customer's W123 because the car slid and hit a curb really hard. Trailing arm was damaged. The cv axle was slightly deformed on the outer joint casing. These cars are tanks!

Hi! I have a similar or maybe the same problem, I 've changed everything and have balanced the shaft but the vibration still continues.. I think is the engine although with new mounts it twist one side and interferes with something that second or minute, then disappear so it can't be something damaged or bad balanced 🤔 Sorry for my bad English

I’m changing my front flex disc now but not beacuse i wanted to fix the flex disc more cuz I’m rebuilding the trans and i had the other disc layin around

Well done man, may I ask a quick question, when tightening the bolts on the flexdisk, do you tighten them tight like normal, or do you turn back a quarter turn from tight?

No. Just tighten them and that's it. Don't go backwards...!!

The 220d along with the four speed manual came from a car that had been sitting since 2000. The body had a straight 6 250 in it. Seized up years ago. It sat since 2012.

Really bad flex disc can cause vibrations on the highway. But you usually need to replace them if you see them having cracks. I've seen bad cases when flex discs just came apart on the highway and the driveshaft let go of the transmission yoke and destroyed the tunnel, driveshaft and the back of the transmission.. Crazy..

A new rubber part you will change after 1-2 year, old original is better

I have used Febi flex discs before and never had any problems. "Meyle" brand is the one to avoid

I am not worried about it. I've put Febi flex discs on my W210 5 years ago. They're still perfect. If something goes wrong, I have a lifetime warranty on all the parts. I can always send them defective or worn out parts and they'll send me new ones for free
