Holy shit why is a simple side mirror removal SO difficult?? Anyway thanks for the video, I think I will have to take on this gauntlet one day as well. My mirror doesn't fold well. It seems entirely that cutting off the mirror wires and soldering a new one in place seems easier than disassembling almost the entire door :D

I don’t sorry , however easy to find on eBay w203 wind mirror and you can find part numbers for there.

Great video, for my instance the wing mirror doesn’t fold but I can hear the motor, do you think it can be fixed?

If you can hear the motor then something is detached or broken. To be honest I think you might need to replace it. EBay second hand.

Hi can you tell me were you are in the uk please . My electric mirrors close but dont open i was told i need to replave the whole light switch that includes the button switches that open and closes the mirrors. Over 400.00 pounds for the replacement switch im trying to find a second hand one on ebay but don't know the number of the switch im hoping you are local to me . Thanks

Hi there, sorry to hear that, does sound expensive but don’t really want to make any judgments. The new switch can be expensive. Am actually in north west London, Elstree, I could help you by looking at the mirrors. I don’t normally do work for the local communities. But if you are local then I can have a look.

To be honest I wouldn’t know, I haven’t done a conversion before sorry. It might be that you need the wiring loom from a donor car that goes to the mirror and plugs into the control unit on the door. And the relevant switch for the mirrors. That’s all I can think off.

Are you sure about having to remove the door panel? because no other W203 mirrors replacement videos mention that,it’s just a connector that you remove and re-attach inside mirror assembly.

Different models and years may have different arrangements, all I can suggest is for you to remove your and hopefully you have the connection by the mirror, my mirror assembly did not have any connections near the assembly the cable just run all the way to the door module..the door panel is not really that hard to remove..

There is 2 types of mirror fitting I bought a replacement mirror unit, you do not need to remove panel, when I unscrewed the door mirror, it was this type, so I have bought the wrong one, this is my type, so I had to buy another, best unscrew the mirror to see in cable is plug into mirror or has to go in to the door panel, in to the door panel costs twice as much £161 ( with out mirror ) other is £81 with mirror, make sure you know which fits yours

@@seanhammond4034 yeah well mine turned out to be the version that required the door panel removed. I just went to my local indie mechanic and he did the whole job for just £30. I wasn’t going to open the door panel myself.

while they could have the wiring outside and you don't need to do all this, I don't know if there are cables you can buy that can be converted to be outside so that if you get damaged again, you don't have to do all this

The cable connector is inside mirror assembly in all other w203 videos I’ve seen.
