just to clarify and I didn't read comments but before you took a break you said always fill from the high side not the low side I think you meant the valve highest on the car because that's the low pressure valve but for those who might mistake the contradicting statement from the beginning where you said and from what I know to be correct, always fill from the low pressure valve... just being a late night smart ass -cheers lol

First off, you need the air-conditioning to be on the LOW setting and turned if HIGHEST Airflow.. (MAX Fan setting) and shake the bottle up and down as you fill it

A/C climate control should be set to highest cooling setting, not low when recharging or checking freon pressure/level.

Lo is the highest cooling setting ! low for lowest temp

I put the can in a pot of warm water to increase the pressure in the can

Your summarizing remarks at the end said to use the high side port when you said to use the low side at the beginning of the video. Haha great vid though! My w202 is throwing a bad compressor clutch code but I never got around to taking a look... Don't know where to start really. It's super cramped in the bay. :P

I have an E55 that needs recharging. It appears that r134 is not sold to the public in Canada, only 12a. And mixing refrigerants is illegal/ dangerous. Every garage wants at least $500 for the job. Any suggestions ? Cheers

The aftermarket products like the one I used here are available at Canadian Tire,Walmart,Princess auto in Canada..they are backward compatible with all formerly used refrigerants...In my opinion a small leak that may need recharging once or twice a season ,at $14 or so per charge is better than spending $1000s fixing an old cars a/c system..

Hi - I have watched a number of your videos. They have been a great help on my 99 C230. When using Duracool Seal & Refrigerant, do you use the sealant first, then refrigerant?

sealant then recharge and leave it running for at least 1/2 hour with a/c on coldest setting and highest fan speed..

There are only 2 modes.. a/c on automatically when the temp. sensor determines it is needed, and E.C. when the E.C. button is lit the a/c is turned off (economy mode) if the light is off the a/c in enabled....again the compressor will only come on when needed if the E.C. button is off...and never come on with the E.C. button lit up

you only need to change the temp degree number to a lower number .

Miguel Morales The clip I was thinking of was on the w202... I just made the video on side vent removal for the w208...should be up within the next few minutes...sorry for the delay, have the flu and been in bed a few days. It's still only a 5-10 minute job..good luck

I recharged the refrigerant in 99 E320 but the A/C gets warm after a few minutes. The pressure is right. I just changed the blower resistor BTW. What could be defective? Thanks

Not yet...refrigerant can slowly escape over time even without a leak...Volvo as far as I know..is the only manufacturer that admits this in the owners manual, and suggests a top up every few years....in my opinion even if the a/c needs recharging again after a few months , recharging will be cheaper to do 20x than it would generally be to fix a slow leak..you will rarely find an a/c repair under $700 accept for recharging,...the new refrigerants are not dangerous to the environment unlike the old freon was..

Rene Lima there is likely a leak in your A/C system the leak needs to be fixed before you recharge it again.. the compressor won't come on if there is no refrigerant in the system

Right, I'm only replying here because I can't find channel comments. I'm having a problem with my CLK 200 (1999) periodic check. It's not being approved because of a too high CO exhaust level and a too low lambda value (oxygen sensor what we (Dutch) call lambda sensor). I need to fix this to get onto the road legally again. Is that something you can make a video about? I do realise I need a garage which can read and edit the car computer data but if there's some handy work I can do myself to save me some labour cost then that would be nice.

It could likely be the Lambda sensors that are causing your problem (there are 2 on your car I think ) 1 before and 1 after the catalytic converter. They simply unbolt and the wire plugs into the harness. Have you checked the air filter, run fuel system cleaner through the gas tank , and checked the hoses in the engine compartment ? any of those can cause a bad emissions test, as can the MAF sensor or worn spark plugs. A computer reading would eliminate all the un-needed repairs and save $$

The CLK is (in my opinion ) one of the sexiest designs ever made..I think The Bently Continental GT is a near copy of the CLK.. Glad the MAF helped you out

Give it up for Jackson Heights own, Mr. Randy Watson yup... was a little low the next spring, so I topped it up again. Seems to be a really slow loss of refrigerant over about 9-10 months..nothing I'm too worried about on a high mileage car that's 17 years old :)

This is good news! I replaced the compressor on my W202 4 years ago, and had almost no refrigerant in it last week. Tech said it was leaking at the compressor. I found this rather surprising since it's not that old. I'm going to just recharge and hope for the best before replacing again. Thank you for the video! Looks very easy. Where did you get this refrigerant? I looked at Wally World today and they only had the kind with the sealant in it, which I prefer not to use. I don't want to gunk up the system.

Amazigh World News if your a/c pressure is too high the compressor may be bad, or it was overcharged...does the compressor come on when you turn the a/c on ?

Miguel Morales no they are pretty simple..there is a little hidden clip inside at the top that holds it in.. I'll try to post a vid , asap

+Kyle Martin red is over charged.... you'll prob need to get the system vacuumed .or there is excess moisture inside

Never turn the can upside down. That will allow liquid to enter the compressor and could cause damage!
