Mercedes W211 E Class GPS Antenna Repair

I have developed a repair kit for Mercedes W211 E Class GPS Antenna failure. No need to pay the dealer over $500 -- I will show you how.

Thank-you for your excellent tutorials! My 2005 E320 CDI used to get that message too so I bought a bootleg Chinese STAR diagnosis system from Alibabba & disabled Tele-Aid control unit in DAS. This particular car came w/o GPS navigation feature installed so disabling that CU hasn't caused any collateral issues for me. Strong work on finding a better & more cost effective solution!

To let you know, your videos are a major and excellent resource, I got the same year and model. And the GPS section is indeed hitting the nail on the head. I am having the same problem, but as it stands now I have chosen to give the android replacement a try, and it comes with its own gps antenna etc. I did lots on searches on the Comand system but it all depends on how you ask the search engine, I did not find the users group comments you found. But what I did find is that the Comand unit is quirky, all around (which I can attest to) They upgraded it so that the new comand units have become much more usable, but pricey, and backward compatibility is questionable. Good luck with the gps kit you are offering, had I seen it a month ago, I might have been your first customer. Thanks!

yep, my antenna broke too on my '05 E500 w 4 matic. hope your biz takes off. sounds like you have a nice service to the community and will save many headaches. (i'm still in the experimental stage and have already got something a few weeks ago to try. If it don't werk, then I'll get your kit!)

Hey thanks for the video, I have a W211 from 05, the tip of my antena broke, now I have a hole. I need to remove it and I’m looking for the oem antenna but just the plastic cover as I’m not using the native GPS anyway. Can I just pry it carefully? And tape another one or do I need to unscrew something from the inside of the cockpit?

Hi Car D, you have a 2006 E class, it is still capable of using the Teleaid or even MBrace, that is because the 2006 has both analog and digital communications. What is necessary is to reprogram the dial out number using a Star, dealer will charge $100, but of course if you have a friend with a SDS C4 probably wont cost you anything.

My 2008 E350 SPORT AWD Sirius radio just says "acquiring signal" as soon as I push the SAT button. It never stops saying that. SiriusXM can't fix it! The GPS Navigation works perfectly. Is it still an antenna issue on the roof do you think? Anyone??

Thanks for that. I have a 05 W211 and have watched your vids before on other things. I have the exact problem you're alluding to with the GPS issue and tele aid malfunction. I'm ordering it now. Buy a fiber optic off Amazon. Disconnect disc changer. Plug fiber optic into wire that was unplugged from disc changer
