Auto Repair Guys You should depressurise the fuel line before you disconnect the battery. INSTRUCTIONS1) - Remove the fuel pump relay.2) - turn the engine over for 5 seconds X2 - The fuel line in now depressurised. 3) - Put the fuel pump relay back in.4) - Disconnect the negative battery terminal. 5) - Commence work on replacing the fuel pump and fuel filter.....Johno's Mechanical Engineering.

Video has good information. Two things I would do different: 1- Clean the area around the covers with a good vacuum. I noticed that there are a lot of dirt going to fall inside the tank. 2- Before removing the right side fuel pump, I would pass a string crossing inside the tank to be easy pulling back the cables to the left side. Other than that, video is OK.

OK Guys firstly let me say thank you for doing this video, I am a mechanic with over 30 years experience but never to old to learn and also I do not know everything, my wife has a E350 and these videos are helpful, one thing you did not show or mention and that is the re-install of the filter and what a pain in the ass it is to feed the pipes and cables across from one side to the other and also where the hole is that these have to be fed through, I'll leave it to you to explain to your viewers.

When you take the hoses out you should tie some rope to the end as you are removing it and then the rope would be hanging out both holes. When you are reinstalling the hoses attach the hose to the rope and pull the rope so the hoses line back up.

Suggest VACUUM that crap out before disconnecting/opening. I do that and follow with compressed air - nice and clean. A little good cleaner/light oil and wipe. I swear by Gibbs - lube, clean, surface protect, does not mess with paint and can paint over.

Hi guys - you folks are amazing. Ever since I got my E320. W211, I always first see your videos before I do anything on the car. Thanks for all you helpful videos. I recently got a check engine light - and I had NAPA look up the code and its is a P0101. So i researched it and found that it was the MAS Air flow sensor that was part of the problem. So I removed and checked and the rubber gasket and surrounding body of the sensor was damaged and replaced it along with new air filters. Vehicle runs fine - but not able to clear code. Any advise ? Id greatly appreciate it.

no you can do it with fuel in the tank but obviously careful with ignition sources and leave widows open or it will stink out the car

A friend suggested YOU would be the one who would know the answer. I so hope you do! I have a 2007 CLK 350 Cabriolet. Service members needed to gain access to my fuel tank three times. The next time I turned the car on, a warning message on my speedometer read: "SRS Restraint system malfunction drive to workshop." It was diagnosed that the driver's side airbag needed to be replaced. Could moving the front seat all the way up cause this? Could it just be a coincidence? Here's the kicker: There has not been one available in the U.S. or Germany, and it has been back-ordered for months. Could it just be a coincidence?

Saved me 100s of dollars.. Bought a Crankshaft sensor thinking it was that, then replaced all fuses and relay.. Fuel pump was my last resort.. found out the fuel sending module stopped sending fuel back to pump.. gave it a little nudge.. tighten all hoses.. then VOILA... thanks!!!

It was all good however at the very end I got confused !!!! So how many Fuel Pumps we have in this car??? 1) There is one underneath passenger seat L/H ?! ( fuel filter is inside that) 2) There is another one underneath passenger seat R/H ?! Why we have two?!What are those actually called ? Finally,Please upload another video to show how to Reinstall those components back inside those two access holes. Seems routing/running those long clear plastic hoses and long harness between two holes could be an issue?! ( Normally removing parts are easier than reinstalling them...any technique or tricks ?) Great video guys with a lot of tips!! I got an issue with my E class 220cdi 2011. Engine turns off to quarter of level fuel, and when I fill the tank again needel goes up just fine and goes down while you consume it. In this case which may be the problem the Level sender or the Fuel pump?

PZEV ...do you have any recommendations if your Mbenz W211 E350 is a California low emission "PZEV" fuel pump? My fuel pump stopped working and dealer said that the whole tank needs to be replace!?!.... first time I've heard of that stupidity design? Mine does have once access which is on the driver side but they said that is the fuel sender? and the actual fuel pump is inside the tank. No wonder the passenger side access when you unscrew the 8mm bolts there is just metal - no openings to access whatever is inside it,,,, tell me there is hack to access the fuel pump pls.... or else the dealer is charging me $4k to replace the tank (parts & labor). July 24, 2023 --- Hi. I own a 2008 Mercedes E350 V6. The fuel pump is no good. I went to my mechanic and he said that the pump cannot be replaced by itself. I have to buy the pump and the tank. That increases the price of the job. The parts alone are $2500. But I and my brother-in-law watched your video above. It seems like you are working on an E-350 but you are able to replace the fuel pump with another fuel pump. You are not dealing with the tank. Why is the Mercedes dealer and my mechanic telling me I have to buy the tank and the pump. Thank you for your help

Did you know there’s a special tool to remove the black housing? It makes it move much easier and the housing doesn’t get any flat head marks!

That ridged cover ("ring nut") is $5, not a big deal to let it get marks on it. The tool you're talking about is $60.

Hitting a metal screw driver with hammer is extremely dangerous because even though the ring you're trying to unscrew is plastic, there is lots of metal around it and you can accidentally cause a spark.

Jammell Brown. 2, one is the auxiliary pump (when one side of the tank reads low, it uses the auxiliary side to feed it more gas) fuel tank is designed weird. At least this one can be replaced individually, newer cars use a similar design but can only be replaced altogether. Expensive as hell too.

Gelacio Tiburcio Wrong! It has one pump. It’s on the right side (passenger side). The other side (driver side) is a fuel filter. People often confuse it with a pump cause it also has a level float. Driveshaft divides the tank on the lower half. Because of this the filter housing also supplies fuel to the pump side as well through one of the hoses. Basically it’s a single pump system with two pickups and two lvl floats and also a strainer on the bottom of the pump.

It has one pump, but it's a part of an assembly. The other part is the sending unit which has the fuel filter.

Ever order any parts online unless you more than one because when the part fails you screwed for a week or 2 I learned my lesson the hard way after been an online parts customer for a long time but after getting a high quality brand name parts that failed in less than a month I never again and never again and never again fk all them online sellers
