Mercedes W212 | Repair - Former Taxi 570.000 KM (Pt 2)

Repairing the former taxi with 570.000 kilometer back to glory. This is a Mercedes-Benz E-Class W212 E220 9G Tronic 2016 model and was drove as a taxi cab in the capital of Sweden until recently. I bought it for 8500 euro with home delivery and also with some faults to repair.
In this video I firs do the most important step to replace the broken star ; ) I also changed the interior blower motor, it had a terrible sound coming from it. Same time changed the cabin air filter.
One of the license plate light was broken, they are so cheap to buy original from mercedes so is worth to change both at the same time.

Yess sometimes I brake things also, and not optimal to remove this plastic outside in the cold. But I wanted to show the fast way to change the license plate lights without have to remove the inner liner and push them out.

I own w203 2005 2.2 cdi 150 bhp, now 520000 km. I compared to many cars, but mercedes is still better in terms of comfort, handling and noise suppression. Engine is louder than in qashqai 2015 1.5 diesel though

I have a 2003 w211 220 cdi with 463000 kilometres on it. Still comfortable. Everything works. Automatic transmission silky smooth. Removed the panels under the engine so hear the engine, but no problem

This sign is worth 100 cars. Is just a great satisfaction when driving the car seeing the sign on the hood . :D and without it is like the car looses its charm. great job :)

Agree. I will never own a Mercedes without it. Newer Mercedes Benz with the giant horrible sign in the grill is not nice to look at. The simple sophisticated sign on the hood is a must

8500! Wow. Comfort value is easily 5 times that. I have a 2012 that I bought in 2012 and it still feels worth 70K to me.

Yes cheap blowers are not worth it, very very loud they are.

Do complete suspension and engine overhaul and you'll be able to drive it for another 300k kilometers. I guarantee it's completely spent underneath. Needs 10 grand of love.

nOrmaly, if the temperature sensor is broken, the heating goes like crazy...

Definitely not the best move, would probably not do that normally. But I like to shot the videos outside for best viewing experience.

It's not quite old. The car is 2016 so its only 7 years. I have my 2014 w212 e220 with 400k km. and the plastics are like new yet . Although know a lot of friends with 2006 bmw e60 250k km mileage whose plastic crack just touched. So mileage doesn't matter for plastic , the age matters.

Hello sir, did you like the behr blower? Does it sound good to you? As much as i hear from the video it does not sound as quite&smooth as the original one. The previous cheap blower that you bought earlier was sounding the worst hands down. Although this one sounds better, still does not sound as the original one. What are you saying?

(Stupid) question: what is the blower? Is that the HVAC fan unit? I'm asking because that needs attention on my W211 as it is squeaking, but I've never attended to it because I thought I have to take the whole dash out. Do you know if it's accessed the same way in a W211?

Not familiar with the HVAC mention for it, but is definitely sounds like the interior blower motor. Is really easy on W211 as well I did the replacement but never made any video for it. Steps are mostly the same.

Loši model od w212 nije mercedes napravi i mislim da ce ih taj model debelo koštai..toliki sam bio siguran u mercdesa al poslije ove w212 poceo sam da mrzim mercedes,nista drugo nego smeće plastično..i jo sagnjio zadnji most a autu 10 godina,pa na kadetu suzi je bolji mos bio 👎😡

You rip apart plastic clips in that kind of cold condition. You know plastic gets more hardened during cold conditions, and makes it easier to break. Try a warmer garage next time. Live and learn my friend, live and learn.
