Used your earlier videos last November to do a transmission pan service on a friend’s ‘14 C250 with the 722.9+. Thank you! Reporting good results with Mobil1 Synthetic ATF Multi Vehicle formula (silver bottle/black label). Remember the new trans used the thin blue stuff. This Mobil1 is older school thicker by %18 red ATF and drained the torque converter. They mix 100%. Now protection is superior as per RAT540 engineer blog’s findings compared to todays “thin” ATFs. Hope this helps somebody

Appreciate your post, but how do you know it is "superior?" Can you send me a link to someone who has done a 100,000 comparison between the two fluids showing images of both transmissions tear down with common wear points, amount of clutch pack wear, etc? I could say that Wesson oil is superior to Crisco and will extend the life of a pans coating. But how do I prove it. There is a reason the engineers chose the fluid they did. It was all part of the effort to create a low-friction transmission. In my.humble opinion, it might be ok to add the thicker fluid to a high-mileage worn transmission.

hi kent, are you going to remove the return hose from the transmission cooler and put long hose on the transmission cooler so when you start the car the pump inside the transmission will pump out the old oil one quarts at a time?

Hi Kent, you are going to remove the return line back to the transmission and then start the engine and let the transmission pump it out one litre at a time whilst you pump in one litre of fresh fluid into the pan for every one litre that comes out the return line until you see fresh fluid coming out the return line ….

Great video so Kent would the best option be to drain the pan and let the car rest for two or three days to let it drip into the empty pan before you remove it to clean and install the new filter??

The valve body should have its own drain plug/bolt as a factory design future. 🐞The cooler lines should drain by undoing their connections at the lowest point - which should be at the 🐝transmission in/outlets, or at the cooler. The torgue converter is straightforward, the plug you showed.☘

I've done it recently in my 77 300D. The pan was clean and the fluid looked great, but from the torque converter I've picked up some metal shavings, but not magnetic (perhaps aluminum??). Is it normal??

you will disconnect the oil line to that comes from the transmission cooler and you turn the engine by hand.

No - no external pressure please.

@@Mercedessource Is that a suggestion for this particular transmission or your opinion regarding MB transmissions in general.. I ask since 722.6 as example is often shown with pressurized contraption to get more fluid out.

this is an very good video but it a shame that you will mot the send you products outside the us

We ship direct to some countries but not to the EU. They have made it way too difficult for us to ship to those European countries with small orders. But we will ship to any freight forwarding company in the U.S. if you should choose to use one..
