The stacking mechanic means that the effect stacks, so if you get charges or cooldown reduction you can mantain multiple afterimages, up to 4x times damage

Just had a run where I had a ton of crit glasses and a wicked run, Mercs second special is absolutely busted. I was able to maintain it as long as I was hitting enemies and was able to shred Providence and tank his lasers with the shadows.

I had a run where I had double Ancient Sceptre, with the Mirror equipment so I had permanent uptime on 4 clones whose damage was also doubled -> providence got melted for 1/2 hp almost immediately in all phases, most fun i've had in the game yet.

Another little trick with slam down, when using the slam, there is no animation of you going down, is instant, so you can instant transmission into the floor from extremely high places, while also negating the fall damage, is quite neat for speedrunning and other niches.

it has a limit on how far down it goes though, you cant reach the floor from thge top of the frozen tundra

The parry was an absolute game changer for Mercenary. The parry dishes out an incredible amount of damage for a character that lacks it in their base kit, and makes it so much more preferrable over whirlwind in my opinion. Not to mention the parry even has a little bit more utility to it in the sense that it can deflect fall damage, lava, poisonous gas, and even the damage taken from blood shrines and Forgive Me Please. I vouch for it immensely. Weaving in dashes and eviscerate to follow up with a parry introduced a completely new experience to Mercenary for people that have played him in ROR1. I'm genuinely super happy abt the addition

One very small note. Having a Hardlight with Skyward Assault is insane damage and crazy invincibility uptime. Really good item for that alt.

I think he received some improvements because I've always been bad with him but currently he's the only character that I can stay alive for a long time, of course, don't unlocked *Drifter*, which many people say she is OP but you get the idea.

​@grung8864 artis base secondary is really weak but pulse spear is pretty strong and is like an fmj on Crack if u time it right. Her primary is a bit gimmicky to use and imo u should never use the alt utility because of how good the ice wall compliments her kit. Hardlight after burner makes her alot better in this regard. Localized sun is solid because it's basically complimentary dps and does do great dmg if u land the explosion but imo flamethrower is alot more simple to use and very strong with the icewall to group up enemies and then flame thrower them all. It also lets u hover a little while ur in the anim. Alot of people who think arti sucks either try using her awful alt utility or don't realize that you NEED to play around her ice wall and basically ur only reliable dps out of it is hit and run with the primary + alt secondary.

wonder how afterimage works with the mirror equipment, can you stack afterimage twice and then activate the mirror?

As great as eviscerate is, your after image skill can do some silly amounts of damage. When paired with the wicked ring and ancient scepter, you can have virtually permanent up time on a 4x damage buff for 6s due to the upgrade provided by the scepter. When stacked twice, you’re getting 16x times your output. With just a backup mag, you can hold down right click for an infinite whirlwind. If you’ve never tried this before, do a quick command run and see how ridiculous it is!

Whirlwind really needs a buff damn, it barely deals more damage than a single primary slash I myself run parry, skyward and eviscerate, afterimage doesn't feel too good and I like the invincibility of eviscerate
