⚠ Disney's latest move to replace the beloved Shooting Gallery with a DVC lounge is a clear indication that the focus has shifted from providing fun and affordable entertainment to relentless sales of timeshares. The parks have become a hub for sales pitches and lackluster rides that strip away the joy and excitement that used to define the Disney experience. Entertainment, especially live performances, is being slashed across the board, leaving guests with a diluted version of what once was. Tiana's new ride didn't incorporate any scary VooDoo elements, but the reality is that young kids can't even enjoy it due to the 40" height restriction. This is yet another example of Disney disregarding what made their classic attractions magical. Walt Disney understood the value of thrilling, spooky moments in dark rides. Now, the current management seems determined to erase his legacy, and it shows. No wonder so many are choosing to spend their money at Universal and other parks that are surpassing Disney in terms of innovation and guest satisfaction. You know what’s sad… I just finished watching a few videos of actual fans creating way better storylines and concepts for this ride. Better cohesive storytelling and ideas. You’d think these current “imagineers” would come up with something substantial. Way to not only let the fans and clientele down, but also all the ACTUAL voice talent Disney had working on this. What a complete disrespect a slap in the face to all the past imagineers, who actually put heart and soul into their attractions. There was so much potential for something better and AMAZING. A “new” headlining attraction opening this year at wdw, the most attended theme park in the WORLD and they showcase this in some office room with beige walls? Meanwhile look at fantasy springs and their merch and it’s a whole show and production. WHERE is the creativity anymore at wdw? I can forgive changing a ride due to problematic reasons. but the replacement is not good. The main problem is there's zero conflict on the ride. Yes, there is a line. Alien Encounter.... way too scary for Disney. But. To remove conflict/scary COMPLETELY? Bad move. Also, we don't need Tiana telling us she needs band members or that the animals play very well 3 different times. This ride replacement is a miss and it's frustrating that this boring ride got approved.
