Thank you for your reaction to this smooth track from a great album! Because of the massive scale of the Brothers in Arms tour, Mark was feeling a bit unsettled and separated from ordinary life and the anonymity of being an observer storyteller/ songwriter. I think he created The Notting Hillbillies as a way to simply enjoy playing and performing roots music again with old friends. He also collaborated with Chet Atkins and made the album 'Neck and Neck' around this time. If you like the laid-back, atmospheric, country blues vibe of this song, you might also like 'Fade to Black' from Dire Straits and Mark's 'Prairie Wedding', among many others.

Brilliant song from Mark Knopfler, very laid back with a jazz feel, his guitar is so smooth. It's a shame they only made one album, but, it is a really good album.

The lyrics, "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink" ,were not written by Knophler. It's a very old saying... at least here in the U.S.

Since you’ve been on this 60’s trip, I would love to see you react to my favorite band of the England invasion , the Dave Clark Five. Listen to Glad all over, Anyway you want it, Can’t you see that she’s mine, I like it like that.

Great reaction for a great song 🙂 just a little bit sad, that the studio version was requested, when a great live performance was just uploaded to MK's youtube channel. If you have some free time, check it out, I think it's the way superior version 🙂 but either way, love it when you react to Mark's music ❤️

This song could have had another five minutes added to the outro.
