This video goes over the sensors and electronic components in the Mercruiser 5.7 engine. I am using my 2007 Black Scorpion engine to explain but this guide can be used for any similar motor. I hope you find this useful.

You never made an impeller replacement video for this engine? I have same engine/boat. Appreciate what you have posted👍

I need impeller video also! And where is the sea water impeller
@jd2429Ай бұрын
@kenleyhockett7473 the sea water pump is under the passenger (port) idle pulley at the very bottom. I just changed mine not too long ago.

Thanks for this informative video. I have also have a 5.7 liter Black Scorpion engine. It is idling very rough, but the engine seems to run fine with higher rpms. Any idea what the problem might be? Thanks

@@marvleier5327 you should replace the IAC valve and the head gasket. If this doesn't help, consider cleaning your injectors and measuring the fuel pressure to the injectors.

@@ItaiLeshniak I think I will start with the iac valve. Thanks

You have a good understanding of these engines. What are your thoughts on a stalling issue I have. I have a 2006 Supreme with this engine I replaced all filters and the IAC valve. It has a new cap and rotor. After running the boat out on the lake when I return to the 5 MPH area while idling into the dock it will stall out and some times stall but not completely shut off. It starts right back up. Any ideas of where to start checking? It runs great otherwise but irritating when it randomly does it in the 5 mph areas. Everyone seemed to say IAC valve but a brand new Mercury valve was installed.

I would assume you either have an air leak so I hope you changed the head gasket. The other thing you may want to try and clean the injectors. Hard to say without getting more information. Check out my other video on how to connect to the computer. It's worth the investment you may find out some interesting stuff.

I have this engine but do not have that monitor gauge near the engine. Is there a simple monitor to plug in to keep track of the engine hours?

Thank you. Where can I find the purple/white wire to set initial timing? I have a 2006 Sanger v210 Black Scorpion. Thx for your videos

@@dantheplumber3233 I am not that I understand the question, are you asking where is the sensor? what is the problem and what are you trying to do?
@dantheplumber3233 Жыл бұрын
Just like the 90s gm vehicles..to set initial timing a wire located on the firewall was to be unplugged, like disconnecting the vaccum advance on a distributer. Un plug connection...set distributer to factory setting and plug connection back in. On my 1996 sanger i have been looking for the purple/white wire to connect to ground so the distributer can be set to the factory degree...then ungrounded the purple/white wire..btw...have you experienced low fuel pressure?
