Why would you block off the oil? My brother is about to get a boat with this engine

You don’t have to. I did it because I wasn’t sure the motor was getting the right amount of oil. I also understand that these oil injection pumps are prone to failure. My oil injection warning module died so I didn’t have a way for the alarm to warn me if the pump failed. So I thought it would be best to get rid of it and add the oil directly to the gas each fill up. That way I know for sure the oil is right and is definitely doing the job. Peace of mind mainly. I thought about trying to find all the necessary parts to make the oil injection system functional again but when I priced it all it wasn’t worth the cost when I could cheaply block it off.
