Mercury 2 Stroke V6 History & Development

Despite the popularity of the Mercury 2 stroke V6, there is not a common place to find a lot of information about them, so I spent hours researching the history and development behind it, scoured forums, books, and compiled what I think is a pretty decent primer on why this engine is worth knowing about.
