Hi Pete. I'm just about to do my first 100-hour service. Is there anything I need to know about the 100 hour service indicator. Do I need to reset anything.. 🤔..

Hi Spera In Deo, what I do in the first 100 Hrs, I skip the spark plugs, thermostat, and water pump, all the rest I do: Fuel filter, Motor oil and oil filter, Gear lower unit oil and plug seals, Zinc anodes (Depending wether you keep the boat in the water or not), Grease all fittings, Spray engine block, spray engine cowling seal (this seal you must always keep moist), Remove propeller and grease prop shaft, run motor on the hose and check oil level. On the screen gauge is pretty much self explain going to maintenance and reset till you get the color check mark on the side. Depending on what gauge model you have.

Hi Pete. After the service, a code came up 442-4 ? High fuel pressure.. ?? Any idea 💡

Hi Spera. This code is usually related to your FSM (Fuel Supply Module) in this module is the fuel regulator which it could be easily clogged, this module is installed in the rear of the engine below the engine block base, if this is the cause, this is a job should be done by a knowledgeable tech or dealer. What makes me wonder is why after the service?. Its the code showing at idle or when key turned on? How many hours you have on this motor? Is it happening at plane speed? Is the motor sputtering ? I couldn’t tell you where the issue is exactly, I can only help you with then areas to look into. Hope this helps. Please let us all know the outcome once you find it. Thank you. 👍🏻

It could always be a defective sensor, but it’s very unlikely, I’m still thinking it can be service related. Go through every step you did when doing the service. Make sure the 2 fuel red tab hoses snap correctly into the filter in the motor. I’ve known few of these motors BRAND NEW with FSM issues, I recommend having a certified tech run a download of all systems, but to me it’s either service related, or FSM.

Hi Pete. I double-checked everything today.. even changed the fuel filler again.. now I did find water in the SB fuel filler. The other engines are running fine, no problem at all.. it has me baffled.. I have serviced hundreds of engines and never come across this issue.. and it being one out of three has me stuck.. I really appreciate your knowledge 🙏

Problem with one on engine mounted filter. Shows water in fuel by alarm,,, Changed filter/sensor on engine,,, Had fuel polished (No water found). Alarm still sounds,,,, Any ideas?

Hi Gator, Check your plug in connection for corrosion, also if you have the filter in the motor (aft stbd) then check the harness for the primary filter in the bilge area, connector looks the same. Check for corrosion. Also disconnect the filter in the motor and see if alarm stills shows, looking for a faulty harness.
