Great information, I'm about 5 weeks out for mine.. This video makes it worth the wait..

Thank @artc9114! It gave you some insite... The only thing with remote is that you can't turn it on/off the same with on the RF2K-S. That's why Mike KG2MM and I are using the Wifi Smart Plug 20amps.

Darren, This is a year past yoru video.. Watching because I'm thinking about purchasing a Lux amp. Anyway, at 23:50 into your video, the difference between Bar Graph 1 and 2 is that the color of the slider is Blue in 1 and Green in 2 :)

@@DarrenN4VFR I have a FT-991A radio with a mAT-1500PRO tuner. the 991A Tun/Lin jack is already in use for the tuner so no place to connect a Band Data cable so suppose I'll have to rely on Radio Sense (RF Sense) for band selection and the RCA from the Tuner to Amp for PTT. Also running out of USB ports on the PC will the SDR and radio etc. Good thing there are multi-port USB Hubs :)

What is the difference between the Mercury Lux vs Mercury IIIS?
@DarrenN4VFR Жыл бұрын
The main thing is the ability to operate the Amplifier from a PC. When, I'm in a hotel room far away from my Shack, i can access my Amplifier via TeamViewer and use the RSBA1 remote control software for my ICOM IC7610. Additionally, I can operate FT8 using the Ham Radio Deluxe with TeamViewer to control WSJT-X, Log4om, and the Mercury LUX. My antenna tuner is the Palstar HF-AUTO automatic HF tuner. Nice easy setup while away from the Shack. The LUX also has 1500 watts SSB and 800 watts recommended for Digital.
@RLVTECHUSA Жыл бұрын
1500 vs 1200 and runs much cooler with duel LDMOS and requires less input watts
@SkipsHappyHour Жыл бұрын
Glad you got one. Are you using the HF AUTO tuner on this? I need to get one because I need a camera to run both of my amps remotely. Everything is automatic band and autotune, but no way to monitor the output power., So I use a webcam on the amp. this amp will solve that. I hear there is a 6 month waiting list. K4RNA Also thanks for the WI-FI switch idea. I need one that does 220v however. Or two 110v 10 amp switches will do. That really helps because I can't reset the amp if I mess up somehow (happened once or twice) and the goes into stand-by. awesome thanks

Cap'n what power are you using 110 or 220? The plug on the back of the LUX has me confused because it looks like 110

Nice video as always. Just curious why you bought the Lux when you already had the RF2K-S?
@DarrenN4VFR Жыл бұрын
Good question. When I'm local at the shack, I use my Anan 7000DLE Mk2 with the RF2KS. While I'm away, I use the Icom IC7610 Remotely with the RSBA1 Remote Software. The Amp that I use remotely is the Mercury Lux.
@davidautry4857 Жыл бұрын
Would you be able to do a comparison between the Mercury LUX and the RF2K-S? I know that a lot of hams are deciding which is the better buy. The RF2K-S includes the built-in tuner while the LUX requires an external tuner so that is also a deciding factor. Thanks for your great videos!

Greetings Darren! I have been watching your videos for a long time. This vid like your others is very well done! Lot's of pertinent info on the Lux! My question is this: What kind of display is above your monitors? The one using the red & green led's. Looks like some sort of matrix display. I would like to build one for my shack. Thanks! 73, Kevin - KK7HGD

Capt your running to much power on ft8 its a low power program.... lol
@SkipsHappyHour Жыл бұрын
Whisper is a low power mode, I run the power needed to make the contact on FT8, FT4. 100 watts does not always cut the mustard.
