Hello Frank, I want to bring to your attention the increasing amount of earthquakes that is suddenly appearing in Ethiopia and it is not going away and its looks like its getting worse. I have as observation to make on why such fluctuation is taking place now, the Ethiopian government built the massive Grand Nahda dam on the Nile river, this dam is so massive that they had to relocate villages to accommodate it. The connection i am relating to is the 2023 Turkey-Syria earthquakes where it has became known that the main reason behind this earthquake was the Atatürk Dam location and its massive size that caused the soil liquification and crust displacement in that region to lose its composition. Knowing that this region of Africa has the vulnerable Great Rift Valley, which slowly getting opening up. Do you think that it is possible that this Nahda dam could cause a massive earthquakes in this region? keeping in mind that this Great Rift Valley crosses along the eastern to southern coastal countries in Africa.

The dam is located on the NW ethiopia, bordering Sudan. The rift vally runs from NE to SW of the country, where all of the recent quakes are happening, and is nowhere near the dam. I've seen articles from Egypt trying to connect the two. Connecting dots that are >700 km apart, is a bit desperate.

Hi everyone, sorry for the goblins grammer, salut from syria Frank, i hope in the future someone will remember your work as the brake point in geo studies and say : we should listened to him. (the silent Geo shift, or silent earthquakes) i still think that's why we don't see big earthquakes often, actually most earthquakes got a silent effect not just destructive shaking one, this silence movements work like an exhausting brakes, depending on the Geological formation of the area . we need more study's about this subject. and finally it's only can be detected by GPS in the area in twenty four hours sometimes a few days before the event.
