A few more you might enjoy: Rush "Finding my way" kzbin.info/www/bejne/n33ShnqPrbdjq68 - just white hot; and the Beatles "I'm down" with the real Paul: kzbin.info/www/bejne/r5CsaWB8ismIjas. Of course, not really Americana. Styx "Rocking the Paradise" deserves at least honorable mention in that category, IMHO, tho I think there must be a better early live vid out there: kzbin.info/www/bejne/kIqvo2Cvg9qserc. The words are more relevant today than ever. It starts slow, but be patient. It really kicks in.

fred120364 and....THANX TO GENE VINCENT AND EDDIE COCHRAN..........the fabulous two rockers live on because of Brian..I have been to both Gene and Eddie's graves and its so sad..but they live thanx to Brian...he's one of them! Had Eddie and Gene lived; they could have toured with Brian................
@fred1203649 жыл бұрын
keri caye Sure, so many thanks go to those two pionneers... but Brian made a lot of magnificent stuff of his own apart from the Gene and Eddie covers too, and the jazz-rock skills he developped in the second half of his carreer make him a giant among the guitar players, able to raise his skills to fit any style of music from classic to hard rock!
@chocolatcats9 жыл бұрын
fred120364 oh of course.......HE'S THE BEST and I have seen his career for years and appreciate all he's done. He's in the same league as Gene and Eddie..again, he's the best.......I prefer Brian's music and playing over anyone (other then Gene and Eddie)...
@fred1203649 жыл бұрын
keri caye Well, then we have at least one point in common: I don't think we have any right to say that this one or another is the best, but at least we can claim that Brian is our favorite!!! Take care and keep the passion thriving!

Got laughed at at school when I tried to point out how amazing they were when they first turned up in uk. Seeing this video now makes me realise how right I was. Rockabilly and punk energy inventive and fun. Like all the best music, they worked it all out for themselves. Makes you realise rock is dead now, there is no room for inventive outsiders to create new sounds to thrill us with ,its all Tv driven and tv wants a guaranteed audience which means just repeating endlessly what worked before.

Lyrics: Stray Cats- Somethin' Else Hey lookee there. Here she comes Here comes that girl again. Wanted to date her since I don't know when But she don't notice me when I pass, she goes with other guys that are outta my class But that can't stop me from a-thinkin' to myself She's sure fine lookin' man, uh. She's somethin' else Hey lookee there across the street there's a car made just for me To own a car would be a luxury. But right now I can't afford the gas. A brand new convertible is outta my class. But that can't stop me from a-thinkin' to myself, That car's fine lookin' man, uh, it's somethin' else. Hey lookit here, just wait and see Work hard and save my dough I've got the car that I've been wantin' so Get me the girl we'll go ridin' around We'll look real sharp with the white top down I'll keep right on a-dreamin' and a-thinkin' to myself When it all comes true man, wow! That's somethin' else Hey lookit here, what's all this? Never thought I'd do this before Here I am knockin' down your door My car's out front and baby it's all mine A '41 Ford not a '59. I got that gal and I'm a-thinkin' to myself She's sure fine lookin' man, wow! She's somethin' else

THIS CONCERT WAS Put out on DVD and i got it great show.
Critics panned them, audiences loved them. They could be slight on record. One trick ponies. But it was a good trick. And live where a band proves its worth they were undeniable. I had a chance to see them in '83. They were jaw droppingly good.
@TheChadPad5 жыл бұрын
One trick ponies? If I understand what you mean correctly, you could call any band that has "their sound" a one trick pony, but these guys definitely aren't. They can all play, perform entertainingly, and did not only rockabilly, but rnb, swing, and on their most recent record, surf rock! And they basically pioneered their own genre, blending punk rock with rockabilly
