Always neat to see how someone else 'cracks the egg' (builds the same Commander wildly differently), I have a weird(ish) Meren deck, but it's usually a blast to play. Nothing more absurd than having the 30 land deck be ahead in terms of mana, but Steves are powerful, the deck has two plans built in, tutor for combo and durdle for value, but the nice thing is that the build up of mana and cards usually means I find my combos pretty quickly, Meren makes sure I can always get pieces back that I lose, or recycle a Steve. I ended up at 55 creatures in the 99, still trying to sneak a few more in, hopefully at the cost of my few artifacts. One upside of 55 creatures is that Lurking Predators is almost a Stax piece, the deck has enough bombs people can hit that it's not a good idea to play into it.

In March of the machine commander there is a deck called magical tinkering with a Legendary Gremlin as the box art face commander I so pumped for the to be released when it does, my favorite creature subtype.

I have a meren combo deck, my favorite is protean hulking into mikaeus and walking ballista, but i love using buried alive or survival of the fittest to use my necrotic ooze combo but just so i can have a 2 card combo i have witherbloom apprentice and chain of smog

Trying to understand how the infinite combo happened to win with Geralf's Messenger, can someone explain?

Sure! Gerald’s Messenger has undying so when it’s sacrificed to the Ashnod’s altar it comes back into play with a plus one counter and 2 colorless mana in his pool. He then sacs it again getting another 2 colorless using all 4 colorless he activated Nim’s death mantle to begging it back into play. Each time the messenger come into play a player is losing 2 life too. Rinse and repeat.

he showed an infinite combo at the end. krenko + swiftfoot boots + prospector + enough starting mana is infinite mana, 1/1s and etb triggers

@@maximiliangunther9597 those cards together do not make infinite as there was no way to untap krenko... However the decklist did show a thornbite staff so he did have 1 way to go infinite
