Cebu island is kind of an all in one place really. A balance of good tourist attractions, white sand beaches, and highly urbanized cities in reasonable proximities. I think there's no island in the Ph that has those 3 combined.

The grandstanding coming from the "all hail the great white man" attitude could be toned down to a tolerable level for the sake of the hapless locals getting caught up in filming and to minimise the gag reflex for the audience.

Hi Mergim, i've been following your travels since you first arrived in the Philippines and have thoroughly enjoyed the way you've incorporated historical facts and trivia into your vlogs. I look forward to watching future vlogs from other parts of our beautiful country, but not necessarily just the islands and beaches all other vloggers highlight. Your episodes from Tondo, Binondo, inner Manila and Intramuros were especially informative as well as entertaining, which proves that the landscapes in the background are not the only things that make for a great vlog. Good luck and happy travels in the Philippines!

Yeah try Mactan Island, start at Mactan Newtown, you can take a bus from IT Park, then from Mactan Newton you can take a motorbike to cross from Mactan Newton to Cordova, you can see the 10k roses, the floating cottages in Bantayan Bay, then you can ride a vhire van from cordova to sm city, or try to ask if theres IT Park. You can have island hopping also, you can share the boat with Inwook and alex living abroad bloggers. Better you rent a motorbike to tour around Mactan the whole day!

In the early 2000s, IT Park wasn't developed yet. I could still remember that it was just cement roads then and wide open land. It used to be an airport by the way. We used to just walk there to catch a jeepney ride outside after our ROTC training every Saturday at Camp Lapu-Lapu just behind IT Park. After I graduated college there were not so many low rise buildings then - EPSON, Globe, NEC to name a few. I'm from Cebu but I haven't visited IT Park for like 3-4 years now. Thanks for the tour Mergim.

Since you mentioned going to explore Mactan one of these days, you can take the bus from IT Park to Mactan Newtown and you’ll be taken off to the sister township of BGC by Megaworld. If BGC had the Venice-themed lifestyle mall, Mactan will be having Spanish-themed soon to be called Plaza Magellan. Mactan Newtown also has it’s own beach which will soon be developed into a beach lagoon. Across the street from Mactan Newtown towards Punta Engaño, there is Mactan Shrine where the Battle of Mactan between Lapu-Lapu and Magellan took place in 1521. I would love that you cover that, but looking at how you actually cover a lot of the most underrated and interesting places, I believe you’ll eventually be able to explore the area without much tip from others.

@Mergim....I suggest you try going up to Chixboy BBQ located in Busay, about 50 meters from the Temple of Leah. Chixboy BBQ is a nice chill place with 3 level of open-air dining areas affording you to get a panoramic view of the city and the surrounding lush mountains and beyond. They open at 3PM but the best time to go there is when the sun is about to set when the city lights below start to illumine the whole city.

Margim I need your help. I’ll be visiting PH for a month. Im a Filipina foreigner tourist. I’d like to travel one way ticket to the following destinations: Cebu-El NiDo-Coron-Boracay-Cebu. One of the requirement is round trip ticket for entry. I do have international round trip ticket. My issue is the domestic flights. You travelled a lot, what do they mean round trip tickets? Will my PH exit ticket considered as one?

this is what i observed while in the philippines.... if you travel from one island to the other within their archipelago you will notice as if you're in another country... each islands other than tagalog has a different dialects, aside each island has a different of natural beauties and attractions.... there are places which can hardly understands tagalog but can understand english... even their tricycles and jeepneys are not the same to that of manila.

Do you know that the area where IT park now was where Cebu’s Domestic Airport used to be before it was moved to Mactan island?

@Mergim....Why don't you enrol yourself to an eskrima lesson? Eskrima is a Philippine martial art in the form of stick fighting which is now practiced all over the world. Cebu is the birthplace of eskrima which is also called arnis or kali arnis in other parts of the Philippines. Practitioners and enthusiasts from around the world have come to Cebu every year to have their annual camp or enrol themselves in the sport. The WEKAF has just held its 16th World Eskrima Kali Arnis Federation (WEKAF) Championships on July 17-21 at the Mandaue City Cultural and Sports Complex. Cebu has several clinics or camps where you can enrol.

It's in no way comparable to BGC. It's tiny and boring. Like when people try to compare Ayala in Cebu to Makati. LOL. Not even close
