The best review I have seen so far of the Merida eSilex. Very informative and a good close walkaround the bike, thank you. (and I subscribed as a result)

That's one smart looking bike. At first I didn't realise it was an ebike, just an oversized frame.

Thanks Guy for this excellent presentation of this nice eGravel which I am considering buying. 2 questions: 1/What kind of iPhone stand do you use for fixing it on the bar/stem? 2/ Would the eSilex enable the fixing of a luggage rack on the back? Best regards, CF/.

Thanks for a great review! I would be really grateful if you could provide info on the mobile phone holder and where you can buy it from? Cheers

Really disappointed that the inner rim width is just 19 mm. My 700c rims from DT Swiss have 24 mm for 40 mm tire width which makes it perfect. So 19 mm for wider 650b tires is not the best choice, isn't it? What do yo think?

Excellent review ! Thx so much 😉Seriously thinking about buying one ! Is it me or the front break hose is looking too short (tense) Must feel strange and touch the frame when you turn right !? Cheers from France. Oh yes, question ... is the rear hub sound nice or completely silent ? I hate when its 100% silent, people cant hear you coming lol 😉

Not only that... it looks like the front brake is controlled with the RIGHT hand !!! WTF?
@VinceBTZ7 ай бұрын
@@michap.6737 Indeed ! Maybe the owner of this bike has a Speedbike (45 km/h electric bikes / speedelec have inverted brakes, like on motorcycles - front on the right ) so he always ride bikes with same brake settings !?

I didn't see any rear rack mounts on this.

Hi. Love your reviews and have subscribed after watching these on the Merida esilex 600. Just one question which I don’t think you covered is what’s it like to pedal without the electric drive when you have no more battery power?
@GuyKesTV2 жыл бұрын
It's actually super easy to pedal 'off the motor'. There's no sense of sudden power loss or disconnection like there can be with a heavier bike or more powerful motor. There's no sense of drag from the cranks either and as it's quiet there's little audible difference either. TBH I'd say it's one of the strongest attributes of the whole system.

@@GuyKesTV Fantastic! Thank you very much. That was definitely my biggest concern. Really does seem like a fantastic touring option. Now I’m just waiting now for their 2023 model to come out.

The new e-road bikes or gravel bikes are a very interesting option these days. I always wonder about sustainability of the bike itself; would the main battery be able to be replaceable? Seemingly the battery being placed inside the frame seems to make that impossible.
@GuyKesTV3 жыл бұрын
The battery can be removed from the frame Dustin so it's easy to change/recharge if you need to.
