If you are interested in ultimately getting full ride scholarships make sure you are well prepared when it comes to interview skills and tying all of your activities into a cohesive life story. I was a finalist for full tuition at UMiami, full tuition at TCU, and semifinalist for full ride at UT Austin and I did not end up being awarded any of them I think in part due to lack of preparation. I did have Covid during my online UT interview though which really sucked.

Hi! I just finished my first year at Johns Hopkins, and wanted to thank you for all your KZbin videos on college admissions. You helped me with my application so much, and now I’m still using your advice to help my younger brother apply next year!

Relative who won full ride: Prereq -- great GPA, test scores, and leadership/community service. Then -- interview coaching, essay help, and aiming lower to maximize "wow."
@AriCarli Жыл бұрын
aiming lower?
@jhmrem Жыл бұрын
@@AriCarli Yes. If you * are middle-class (make too much for good need aid and make too little to cash flow private school tuition) * want to avoid loans * are a student with great academics, scores, and leadership, but at best would be average at top-tier unis, there is a group of second-tier/third-tier colleges that has full-ride or full-tuition scholarships. You focus on those and greatly increase your chances of both a decent education and getting out with no loans. Strategy: Become a relatively bigger fish in a smaller pond. The top-tier unis do tremendous aid if you are poor. Not awesome for middle class. For the right middle-class student, loans to get a HYSPY education would be worth it. In our case, the top-tier colleges wouldn't have been a good fit regardless of money.

What kind of colleges accept community college credits you took while in high school?
@books35972 жыл бұрын
At least in my state all public schools accept them, and most private schools accept some but if you're looking at a private college look for course equivalencies on their website because some won't transfer, check the same for any AP's you took since some will only accept scores of 4 or 5 but not 3s for credit, hope this helps
@SupertutorTV2 жыл бұрын
Public universities. Highly selective colleges generally do not accept such credits

I have never seen anyone who is not from the State of Wisconsin get any money, much less full tuition, from U of Wisconsin. Perhaps this only applies for Wisconsin residents.

I’m a 33 year old student that f’d up in high school and in college and I want to start over. I want to study so I can retake the SAT and ACT and get as close to perfect scores as possible so I can get a Full Merit Scholarship. Is any of this possible? Can I get my GED in order to avoid giving schools my high school transcripts?

Public schools not in the "top 100" in the rankings of a defunct magazine that are great schools and offer lots of merit money for both residents and nonresidents (not necessarily full rides) include U of Kansas, Missouri, Arizona, Delaware, Colorado, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Arizona State.

Hey I wanted to know if Ivy League colleges take dual enrollment credit. I’m supposed to get my AA degree by the time I graduate, but I still have two more years to get my bachelors. Is it possible to transfer that credit to most ivy leagues.

typically Ivies/top 10 colleges do NOT accept dual enrollment credit
