Nice - I've got a couple of vintage watches like this.

I love these watches. Grew up with this style all around me. Takes me back :)

I think it looks a bit like an old Soviet watch with the red, gold and black/grey. I'm a sucker for quartered dials.
@johnswatchjoint Жыл бұрын
Me likewise. Went down the Poljot and Vostok rabbit hole for a year or so. Some amazing watches but some horrors also 😂

@@johnswatchjoint I find them to be either monstrously kitsch or quite sublime. They do seem to have gone in for commemorative watches quite a lot. Not something we really do. Maybe someone is producing a Brexit watch or a coronation watch or one to celebrate the Lionesses' footballing achievements or the Beatles, but I've not seen it. Don't tell Sunak or Braverman though - they'll get ideas. I'd buy a rejoining the EU watch with stars for indices but I can't see that happening any time soon.

Glad to see you getting your hands on this watch too! I really enjoyed my blue version, I wasn’t expecting this grey dial to look as good as it does. Great review!

Cheers. Wish I had went for the white and gilt though. Looks awesome. :)

@@johnswatchjoint Too many colours, too few slots in the watch box 🤣

We obviously have very similar taste in watches. I have 2 of these. One with the salmon dial on a beads of rice bracelet and the red one now on a brown leather strap. They're great lightweight vintage style watches. Good for an occasional antidote to steel diver's watches.

Very nice 👍

Very nice watch. I would probably get the bracelet though. Like I said before, you and I have very similar tastes. I found your channel looking for a review of the Proxima PX1965. I’m glad your channel is getting to place where companies are reaching out and sending you watches. Keep up the great content!

I like the case shape and the vintage design, especially the rose red or salmon coloured. But I'm also a fan of vintage designs with modern materials, like Baltany does for example. The mineral crystal, especially when it's so exposed due to its boxed shape is a real downer for me. 😏

I love this retro style - reminds me of the watches my father used to wear back then. The Chinese text on the dial is a nice touch - if you gonna have a Chinese watch then go all-in wear it with pride.

Certainly more to the watch than on first glance John. Looks very nice with the light blue dial 👍

Looks really good only thing is dress watches are ok if you work in an office or go out a lot 👍

What would be your pick for the 60s type of a watch? Timex Marlin kind a vibe ?
@johnswatchjoint Жыл бұрын
My favourite watch of an era is the Omega Constellation C- Case
@Unwoken_European Жыл бұрын
@@johnswatchjoint The suggested case is more 70s vibe. I prefer pure round case with domed crystal. Watches like Marlin or Poljot de luxe.
@johnswatchjoint Жыл бұрын
Yeah my favourite is 70's as I always remember the house parties for Tupperware or get togethers at New Year! Everyone had those watches on their wrist. I do however like the Poljot deluxe. It is stunning but alas dress watches are a dying breed!

Beautiful watch and a good review. I really like these, the 38mm case is perfect, however, I bought a Seizenn with that movement and it became extremely inaccurate after 3 months occasional use 😒
@johnswatchjoint Жыл бұрын
That's unfortunate. You do kinda have to look after them very carefully .
@dunderhay9169 Жыл бұрын
@@johnswatchjoint Yes, I didn't knock it, but in the manual it warns not to fully wind the spring which sounded worrying. I salvaged the watch by fitting a quartz vh31 for about £20 so it ended up OK.

That was rather genius of you....Get a video out to show is how you did it...that would be cool!
