I’ve had mine for a while, it’s great.

I still enjoy my Addies pilot but it's past time they retired that case, or at least refine it more. There are too many nice sub $100 watches out there that makes such a basic piece look old and tired. And to me it's getting a bit dishonest to give us yet another re-dial in the same package when their 38 mil pieces show they could do so much more.

I like this one. I discovered it by mistake before Christnas. Good Hamilton homage that Hamilton doesn't really promote but is on their website.

Oh no, that bracelet looks terrible. They would have been better off offering this watch on a good quality single pass canvas. With Watchdives really stepping up their game, offering great value for money, Addiesdive need to follow suit. Another great honest review!

I have the 40mm Hamilton that this is copying. The Addiesdive is amazingly close. The dial depth is deeper on the Addiesdive, but other than that, it looks almost identical. Even the bracelet is a match. I am not a fan of the NH35. Considering a used Hamilton can be had for 3-400$, I'm not sure this is a great value. They should have used a VH31 and made the watch a bit thinner and sold it for 60$. That is the sweet spot.

Great review as usual. I like Addiesdive and have two of their watches. However the cursive font is not an improvement, to me it cheapens the watch. I seem to be one of the few who had no issues with the logo, but they do need to revisit their branding design. I'd also like to see them use a different movement like the PT5000 which will reduce the case thickness and give a more premium feel. Keep up the good work, you're not getting the exposure you deserve and quite often I have to go searching for your reviews, whereas others keep popping up with irritating frequency 🤨

Szkoda że nie robią rozmiaru 41-42 mm. Mam jeden zegarek addesidive ze srebrną tarczą hamiltona i wygląda bardzo dobrze. Nie mogę jedynie do rozmiaru przywyknąć. Wiele lat nosiłem zegarki sportowe lub casio edifice i powrót do standardowego rozmiaru jest bolesny w odbiorze zegarka. Dla mnie 39 to maleństwo, moja żona nosi 40mm przy skromnym nadgarstku. Kiedyś nosiłem mniejsze i było ok ,teraz ciężko.

Good review with fair criticism 👍. The bracelet comparison with Watchdives was shocking, but having said that the Addiesdive endlink fit reminded me of my 1990s Datejust only that has hollow endlinks too 🤣. I'm afraid the misplaced 3 would drive me mad, it looks even worse in the cupboard of doom!

I agree this name/font is an improvement..still think just a logo would be better. Saying that i still think it looks the part both on the bracelet and straps.. Shame the quality of the bracelets aren't up to scr.

Hey John, Happy New Year to you and the moggy. I have a few Addiesdive watches and they all have their quirks but are improving over time. I prefer them on either sail cloth or leather straps as the bracelets seem to below par.

I think you nailed the analysis. This looks good if you get rid of the bracelet and put it on a leather or canvas strap to increase the field watch vibe, since this watch looks better as a field watch rather than a dive or dress watch, I could see myself wearing its a field watch but not as anything else. However, there is a lot of competition in that sector, apart from some excellent offerings from the AE usual suspects, there is Bertucci and Timex to compete against, not sure if this has enough to secure the wrist spot ...which is unusual because I'm an addiesdive fan and the several I own do see a fair amount of wrist time. cheers!

Thanks for another quality review, John. I have the AD2048, and I agree with you that it is better than this one. Still, for those who may be put off by the more intricate dial design of the AD2048, this model, more subdued, could suffice. No question about the niggles with the bracelet tolerances. Lovely down turn on the lugs but that poor bracelet always puts me off addiesdive. Delighted to see they aren't using the old logo, I way prefer that new font even on this watch 😆 but needs the new logo on the bracelet to match .... Lovely video though mate, enjoy the winter wonderland 😎🌨️🌨️

Yikes. Glad our Molly has the giant fur coat for all that snow! It’s 70 Degrees (21 Celsius) here in Los Angeles today. 😅 I think this watch is good but not great. And unfortunately for Addiesdive, Steeldive, etc., Watchdives exists. Again pretty good though. Thanks for the great review as always!

Your comments are spot on John. Addiesdive have been using this same case for too long. They need to knock a couple of mm off the lug to lug and maybe also a mm off the height. Watchdives are showing all other budget brands the way to go.

addiesdive sent me a defective watch

A bit of a frankenwatch 62 mas case and bezel…a ranger dial and dive watch lume. To be fair, the big 3 watch houses do this all the time. It’s why citizen has like 42 chronographs in thier catalog. Despite its thrown together appearance…I kind of dig it.

A year of development and they ruin it by painting the seconds hand red, writing “caller gmt”, “fans of 6542” and “Homage” on the dial and give a gmt a 60 click bezel. All quite hilarious really. The cyclops just needs to be bigger so you can see through it at angles.

Ace! Really looks outstanding on the wrist.

It's odd that clasp, I have the S456 41mm GMT and the clasp looks very similar but has 3 micro adjustments. That is a a very beautiful watch, love that bamboo style dial. I did consider it but thought it a little too dressy for me and gòt the more sporty S456. Seestern have really upped their game, the fit and finish on these is truly remarkable. The S456 has better finishing than even San Martin, this one looks to be finished to the same very high standard, incredible value.

Really nice choice of colours, and the lume colour looks great. The bezel insert looks awesome but I'm not a fan of a light bezel. Another great review, cheers John.

I just wish San Martin would start releasing these watches with the higher beat Miyota movement. I've got too many watches with the 4R/NH movements. I understand that the price will increase, but the upside to having a watch with a Miyota movement (providing thats what they started off with when designing & making the watch) is that it has a slimmer profile to the NH series, therefore the watch thickness would be a bit more slimmer. I would happily pay a bit more for a higher beat movement and slimmer design watch.
