Bonnie was married To Merle Haggard when this was recorded in 1970. Divorced from Buck Owens 10 years before she married Merle in June 1965. Rip Merle and Bonnie best ever

I prefer Johnny Cash also but I am also a big fan of Merle. They have very different voices and singing styles so they shouldn’t be compared. Both were hugely talented- there is nothing wrong with appreciating both of them.
