Love watching entertainers showboating especially when they’re so good they don’t overestimate themselves. Great performance
@theferrones
@theferrones 2 жыл бұрын
@Susie maybe showboating is the wrong word. But I’m talking about whole 6 1/2 minutes not the song only. Swagger might fit better. If you look up the word it’s only a few degrees off from a different perspective. He falls into the category of if you’ve got it flaunt it. It’s what entertainers do. When you’re at that level who cares? It’s pure fun. Glen Campbell did the same: look up glen Campbell gentle on my mind (terrific guitar break). If I could perform that well I wouldn’t shy away from it. Cheers, bill

One of the top twenty country singers of all time accurately impersonating one of the top five country singers of all time! One of my favourite clips on KZbin. Why is it with genres of music these days (counrty/soul/rock n' roll/blues/folk/pop/reggae) you need to go backwards to hear something real.

1:52 would have to be so frustrating. The man is in the middle of an act, he then sits in the audience and gave some lucky fans an experience that most people never had....and what do the bimbos behind him do? They shove a book in his face, begging for an autograph.

Well, after Dolly,Loretta and Willie are gone, there's George Strait and Alan Jackson. If prayers are answered we'll get Randy Travis back. But they're not gonna be here long. I know one singer who can truly be called country- Mo Pitney. If we don't get some more we'll just listen to the greats. It won't be so bad!

Amen, brother. I was in Nashville recently, and the best singing and the worst I heard was in the airport. The first performer was a cherubic lady singing some solid blues. The other was a fool howling like a coyote and calling it country music. One fellow actually clapped for him. I wanted to hang longer with the bluesy lady, but the shuttle was waiting.

Merle had just about every singer in county and western dead to rights. To see him sing with one of his idols is such an amazing treat. He lived and breath every step into country and I'm so thankful he gave us what he did. When Marty looks at him doin himself, it's absolutely uncanny. This is such a beautiful piece of film to see Merle see Marty. Marty Robbins is probably the greatest county singer of all time, and to watch him watch Merle do him like that is somethin else man. ❤
