I'm a big fan of Merle Haggard and Toby Keith. (No I'm not from Oklahoma) I love them because they are both unlikely success stories. Merle really did do time in jail, the odds were against him to ever turn his life as a felon around. And Toby Keith is a big old boy, he thought his future was in Football. Got drafted for the OU Sooners, that didn't work out, tried Arena Football, tried working in the oil fields, gave music a chance and finally had a hit in his 30s. Both, on paper, never had a chance. But their talent, songwriting, and perseverance, made them both undeniable. I really respect that drive and commitment.

I miss Toby so bad already, not sure how long im going to feel so bummed for. I always will to a degree, no doubt, but as of now it just doesnt feel real to me. He is the first person whos death has affected me like it has. I honestly just cant wrap my head around it. I'll come to grips with it then watch another one of these videos anf get lost in it then when its over it hits me like a ton of bricks yet again that he is gone. I absolutely hate it and i never met the man in my life, just an Okie and a Sooner fan that looked up to him. I feel like i lost my favorite uncle, best way i can describe it.
