Great comparison! I saw both of them for sale online for $49 USD. They looked similar in the pictures but I wanted more info. This was informative and helped me make my decision to buy the Yokata II.

Not the same shoe. Both were offered at the same time. Water proofing is an internal membrane. Specs available onl8ne. Ihave the hightop Alverstone and the low top Yokota. Neither, obviously, compares to my Keen Teghre.

You can spend a LOT more money on hiking shoes but you won't get better than Merrell in terms of performance and durability. I just wish they made heavy boots.

Why would a leather lace loop wear faster than a cloth one?
