Hi Jose, I think it would be ok for shorter walks, but I would not recommend it for long hikes. ATB Clive

I think merrell markets them as a hiking shoe. They look like they would work fine. Some people thru hike in sandals without a problem, and these are surely more substantial than sandals

yup look at those aggressive thread pattern, they can shred trails and clear water pretty fast.

@@saintlaurent6302 No, the trail shreds them.. That rubber is so soft that a week of hiking would wear it all away. They're great for playing in the water but not for walking any distance.

finally bought my pair...the black ones though...no available dusty olive...there's a blue but it's 1 size up. luvin' it. the chunky lugs are a monstrocity...ha ha ha...i can feel it gripping the ground (cement) as well as on the floor tiles. i just have to wear them with thin socks because of the 1-booty upper or a sock-like fit compared to my maipo 1.

OMG. my choprocks are 3 years old. i just had them sewn all around to make them last longer. the glue / epoxy on one of the toe caps / bumper are already worn off. i think the next thing that's gonna break / snap will be the cloth lace loops. we have a tree planting / growing coming up. i'd love to use these but i'll be choosing between these, my maipo 1's or the wildwood aerosports.

Would anybody know if this shoe has a wider fit? I have wide feet and this is a common problem for me. I appreciate any input. Thanks

My feet are fairly wide and I find them comfy. That said I don't walk far in them, the soles are so soft the tread would wear away in no time. I walked a mile and half on rock and gravel when I first got them and was shocked at the wear.

Can this servise/ bata and quite a few more footwear maker take pain of the brain to make shoes sandales like this ..if not then v hv to resort to foreign shoe import .read eddie bower and merrils of usa.
