Did you always use the pinpoint feature before?? I have my own way of pinpointing thats more convoluted then anyone else I seen, but it works for me most of the time, I basically do what you did in the video, but sometimes I'm still off so I stare at that point in the grass (dont look at the detector, keep your gaze on the grass) and turn 90° and do it again, sometimes I was off the first time and now my gaze is at a new spot, if the spot changed I turn another 90 and do it again, untill the spot dosnt change, then dig there

Happy for you and XP! XP needed a U.S. ambassador to represent detectorists here in the states. I know it will be a hard task, but I think Merrill is the right person for the jobl. We (meaning the U.S.) need someone to communicate our wants, needs, expectations and suggestions for product improvement back to XP. Along with what options might be critical to keeping and increasing sales of XP products in the U.S. going strong; Merrill can be that person. To get started, I've been asking for a small coil for the XPD 2 since its initial release. A 5 x7, 5 x 9 1/2 or perhaps a 6" round coil. Perhaps they can even use the same coil mold which was used for the Deus (233-DELLHF) small coil? Less tooling costs, faster production and release that way. In either case, people want a small coil to search trashy city parks here in the states. If they need someone to be a beta tester of such a coil here in the states, I'd be happy (honored) to help. Again, congratulations Merrill! 2024 is going to be amazing!

It only takes a little practice and turning 45 degrees is not necessary ;)

@@detektorweb For sure, not necessary. However, when you’ve turned a $500 dollar coin into a $50 dollar coin because you chunked it with your shovel, taking the time to turn 45 becomes not necessary but worth the extra steps… IMO.

I have a question that's been nagging me for numerous years now . All metal detectors use conductivity as a means for finding different metals . The higher the conductivity the higher the signal or tone , so of course, iron and similar metals are lower , then aluminum , then copper , then silver , then gold is supposed to be one of the highest conductors , higher than all the metals I've listed. So why is gold one of lowest tones or signals? I don't understand, my thinking is it should be highest of all metals not down with trashy signals??? Good luck with team XP, and once again, congratulations
@davidkelly8274 Жыл бұрын
Gold is mixed with other metals. That’s why it can be low, medium or high.
@toddfroelich1190 Жыл бұрын
@davidkelly8274 thanks , perfect sense, I didn't realize the difference metals they mixed with gold . I just figured they mixed silver or copper, but they use nickel and other lower conducting materials

Pure Gold is not the best conductive metal ! it's silver. Gold comes under silver and copper.

Now that you're an XP Master, please answer this.... Does one GB the Deus on a wet salt beach? How about when in shallow saltwater? I see many vids of these new multi-frequency machines being ground balanced on wet sand. Why? I thought MF solved the salt equation? As an example, I've never had the need to GB using BBS/FBS machines at the beach, wet or dry. My Excalibur is a gold magnet in/at Caribbean beaches. My 3030 found its share too. So what's different? Ive not been on a treasure vacay since COVID. Will my Deus II and Legend require GB? Or will they be turn on and go Excal quiet in the surf? Is it that the newer machines are more sensitive and thus more erratic in the salt? In such case, that's not always a good thing. I tried 3 Equinox when they came out. Before I gave up on them because of leaking, they often displayed the overload ground signal. I also found less gold using them because much vacay time was wasted scooping tiny pieces of junk! I like the Deus, but does one GB it in shallow saltwater? My guess is no. Please explain the differences between BBS/FBS multi and the latest MF detectors? Something is way different, and so far no one can explain this to my satisfaction. Thanks for all responses.
@xpmetaldetector11 ай бұрын
Hello, you need to ground balance the Déus II on the beach the same way you do inland ! Because your ground may vary and to be able to have an accurate ground cancellation, you must pump to allow your detector to identify the ground signature. To be able to reject the ground accurately, you have 2 settings : the Grab tool and the SALT SENS. the Grab tool allows you to grab the exact value of your conductive ground, as it can fluctuate depending on the percentage of salt in the water under your coil. (If you want to do a test at home, take a large bowl filled with water and start putting salt in it. The more salt you put, the lower the value you will get when ground grabbing with your Déus II.) So even if the Déus II substracts the conductive ground perfectly thanks to the FMF multi-frequency technology, with this value, it can do it with more precision and center its substractive window on this value. The SALT SENS parameter complement this subtraction process to allow you to control the size of this window: if you encouter instabilities because the window is too narrow, simply widen it by lowering the SALT SENS parameter and you will obtain a detector more stable without compromising sensitility over the rest of the target ID range.
@cabochris10011 ай бұрын
@xpmetaldetector thanks for your reply. OK, so one GBs at the wet salt beach, thanks. But what about when coil is fully submerged in saltwater, like when diving... does one GB when submerged in saltwater? Using the older brand 17 MF machines, there is no ground balancing on the beach, wet or dry, or in saltwater? I believe the multi fequencies compensate for ground and salt. What is different with your MF technology? Is GB required because it's far more sensitive? I really like your Deus2, and I travel to the Caribbean to hunt shallow saltwater for gold, silver, and platinum jewelry. Over the years, I've tried most machines, but not the Deus yet. I ask these questions so I better understand what to expect using your machine in surf conditions. So here is another concern... hunting a saltwater beach in the water, and walking a pattern from ankle to neck deep, and sometimes in surf conditions, which plug is used, red or black? I spend hours detecting in shallow water, where the machine control box will be randomly in and out of the water. The black plug is only good to 1 meter. That's about 3 feet. The red plug should not be used out of the water. Since I'm not diving, I would select the black plug. But will the black plug seal at times very close to 1 meter depth? 5 of my past 3 meter depth machines leaked in such conditions, and I do not want to flood my Deus. I also do not want to restrict my hunt pattern. Thanks.
@xpmetaldetector11 ай бұрын
Even underwater, ground balancing will assure you to have the best possible accuraty over small and difficult targets. You will also need to adjust your SALT SENS to find the right balance between performance and stability. FREQ MAX, AUDIO RESP and SENSITIVITY are also some relevant settings to adjust. Please read the Déus II manual to have more informations on these parameters. Regarding the right plug to use while wading. If you are unsure about staying less than 1 meter deep, please use the red one as the remote can handle it even outside of water if it goes underwater regularly without staying in direct sunlight for hours. Just remember to rinse your remote as quickly as possible after your session is over and rescrew the gray plug right after.
@cabochris10011 ай бұрын
@@xpmetaldetector Thanks for your help. I always wondered if saltwater threw off ground balancing. I will GB my Deus always. I will also use the red plug for shallow water hunting. Thanks again.
