In Drax, & Thanos' 1st appearance in Iron Man's comic, it seemed to me Drax creator Jim Starlin intended him as Thanos' main foe ( if not Thanos as HIS?). But Drax never got his own book, and when Starlin wrote another hero's book (Marr-Vell, Warlock, Silver Surfer, etc.) he used Thanos, and Drax got pushed aside or out of the picture entirely. That unfortunately became the pattern for Drax, & he started getting killed and diminished. Now in the MCU he's just there to say unintentionally funny lines. Big comedown for a guy who once had the potential to be a cosmic champion and the power to match some of comic's toughest.

Always thought Drax was really cool- originally. Wasn't much of a fan of the 'brain dead' rebirth in Infinity War and hated the Riddicking up they did later. But I do like him in the movies. So, I suggest they split the character. Drax, alien dude, family killed by Ronan and Drax the Destoryer, space zombie out to kill all evil!

Calling Drax, the Destroyer is BIG COSMIC JOKE from the moment he comforted Thanos!! The best fight between those 2 was the 1 nobody saw! Since his 2nd Resurrection , he's an all powerful class 100 ton 💪Brute 💪!! Since then Marvel Comics watered this character down so much, he's Not much of threat to even Nebula , Starfox nor Mentor much less Thanos, who's gotten even more Powerful since he lost The Infinity Gauntlet

Furthermore after Drax's 2nd Resurrection the poor fella is nearly retarded & Coronos ( a very powerful being in the Marvel Universe) can't restore his mental condition until he's become weaker!! I thing Coronos doesn't want to TRULY hurt his grandson 😢

I remember Drax's first appearance with Iron Man. Later, he and the Infinity Watch made a good team. I kinda miss ol' dummy Drax. I lost track of him after that so thanks for filling me in. I had no clue what was going on when he turned up in the MCU with a new look and less powerful.

Since Dave Bautista has said the next movie will be his last interpretation of the character, I hope Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 gives Drax the perfect outing, showing how Drax was before he was turned into a big nerffed moron, how he used to be a really powerful and intimidating warrior that probably has a lot of enemies after him, have him find out his daughter was saved by an eternal and raised to become Moondragon, let the third movie be his final battle to save his daughter before he meets her mother in the afterlife

Drax finds out a big set of secrets in this time which reveal a dark plan one that spells trouble for the future and his origin and a lie about his death and rebirth one the universe has kept secret of which is connected to another Destroyer during the second world war and curse and mysterious reasons for his life? Drax The Destroyer: Chronus Curse and the children of the stars?

Really! I liked Drax in the comix, and Ray Batista' performance makes him likable enough; but otherwise he brings absolutely nothing constructive to the MCU Guardians. I don't remember much if any particularly decisive shows of strength from him. Originally Groot, and now Thor being the group's muscle. Gamora (also a better tone of green) and Nebula seem much more skilled fighters. Star Lord is the flyer, and he & Rocket (the brains of the group) are the shooters. Mantis has mental powers. Drax is just ... there... saying something unintentionally funny.
